Background

Bay FC is the first NWSL team in the Bay Area. Co-founded by four U.S. Women’s National Team legends—Brandi Chastain, Aly Wagner, Danielle Slaton, and Leslie Osborne—in partnership with global investment firm Sixth Street, Bay FC is changing the face of women’s soccer as we know it. Beginning play in the 2024 season, we are building a squad that will play the beautiful game with power, passion, energy, and creativity.

Bay FC is a team that defies convention and transcends culture. We are proud to represent the Bay Area with its tapestry of different ethnicities, languages, climates, and ideas. Our team will be a uniting force, building a culture of belonging and shared pride. We will become a beacon of hope and connection, welcoming and embracing all fans. Our stadium will be a home for people of all backgrounds and identities. We will be the bridge that unites the Bay’s diverse communities. Through our actions and our love of the game, we will inspire and improve the lives of others.

While our community is our foundation, our love of football is our reason for being. We have the fire to be the best, and we will show up on the field every day with intensity, competitiveness, passion, and a drive to win.

Position Summary

Bay FC is seeking a strategic, analytically driven Manager of Business Insights & Analytics to serve as a key thought partner to senior leadership and functional department heads. This role will own the club's fan analytics narrative, translating complex data into clear, compelling business recommendations that directly influence commercial strategy.

As a senior individual contributor and emerging leader within the insights & analytics function, you will shape how the organization uses data to make decisions.

This role reports directly to the Director, Business Insights & Analytics.

Responsibilities

Consumer Analytics & Growth Insights

  • Build and maintain a connected insights system that transforms business, market, and fan signals into clear, actionable choices
  • Analyze commercial performance across channels and product lines to identify revenue patterns, demand drivers, and high-impact windows for marketing influence
  • Conduct market and geographic analyses to size growth opportunities, assess penetration, and guide resource allocation across priority audiences and regions
  • Own brand health measurement to evaluate awareness, sentiment, and market positioning, surfacing insights that inform brand strategy and creative direction
  • Champion a test-and-learn culture by designing measurement frameworks and interpreting A/B tests

Fan Intelligence & Segmentation

  • Own audience intelligence by maintaining unified fan profiles, defining consumer segments and personas, and identifying growth opportunities to guide personalized marketing and commercial strategies
  • Analyze the fan lifecycle from first exposure through long-term fandom to surface retention drivers, friction points, and opportunities to increase lifetime value
  • Segment and deliver audiences for campaign targeting, promotional offers, and cross-departmental outreach

Strategic Business Partnership

  • Serve as the embedded analytics partner for senior stakeholders across Marketing, Ticketing, and Merchandise, proactively identifying opportunities and surfacing insights that influence organizational strategy
  • Design and execute end-to-end analytical projects: problem framing, data collection and unification, modeling, insight synthesis, and stakeholder communication
  • Translate ambiguous business questions into structured analyses and executive-ready recommendations
  • Lead recurring business reviews, presenting data-backed narratives to department heads and C-suite with clarity and confidence

Qualifications

Required:

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in analytics, business insights, or consumer insights roles
  • Strong experience translating data into business impact, particularly in revenue-generating functions
  • Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language such as Python or R
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Experience building audience segmentation, consumer profiles, or personas for marketing activation

Preferred:

  • Background in sports, media, entertainment, or marketing analytics
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Familiarity with platforms such as Salesforce, KORE, Tixr, Iterable, Shopify, Google Analytics, or similar CRM, email, and digital marketing tools
  • Hands-on experience with fan or customer data, including marketing mix modeling, attribution, or media measurement
  • Exposure to brand health tracking, survey design, and market research methodologies
  • Comfort leveraging AI tools to automate workflows, enhance analysis, and improve business processes across analytics and operational use cases
