Candescent is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager, Content Strategy & Copy to support the Chief Product Officer and leadership team in shaping the voice, tone, and content strategy across our product and brand ecosystem. We’re building a world-class design and content organization under our Chief Design Officer—a leader known for creating cross-functional design ecosystems at Mastercard and Sapient. This role is foundational to that vision.

As the Manager, Content Strategy & Copy, you’ll lead both strategy and execution, crafting the words that make our products feel intuitive, human, and distinctly Candescent. You’ll define scalable systems, mentor emerging talent, and collaborate across disciplines to ensure every message—from product interfaces to onboarding journeys and brand storytelling—is purposeful and cohesive.

Responsibilities:

Content Strategy, Vision, and Planning

  • Defining Candescent’s voice and tone across all product and marketing touchpoints, ensuring every message is cohesive, human, and purpose driven.
  • Lead content strategy and execution across multiple product lines, driving clarity, consistency, and emotional resonance in user-facing communications.
  • Build scalable content systems including guidelines, taxonomies, and naming conventions to support internal teams and client institutions in customizing and scaling content effectively.
  • Write and refine product copy for Consumer Banking, Business Banking, and Account Sales & Onboarding experiences—covering UX microcopy, onboarding flows, error messages, and in-product communications.
  • Present and advocate for content decisions and key deliverables to peers and executive stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Design, UX Research, Product Management, and Marketing to ensure copy is clear, compliant, empathetic, and brand-defining.
  • Participate in user research and evaluate feedback to guide content improvements and ensure messaging aligns with user needs and behaviors.
  • Contribute to and promote content guidelines, best practices, and standards across the organization.
  • Shape the long-term vision for content strategy at Candescent, evolving processes and standards as the team grows.
  • Partner with Product Owners and Designers to translate strategic goals into content features and user stories that align with the broader product vision.

Customer Experience Research, Insights, and Execution

  • Conduct competitive analysis of direct and indirect competitors to inform content strategy and positioning.
  • Gather and interpret both quantitative and qualitative insights to ensure messaging resonates with end users.
  • Build programs that help teams stay closely connected to end users through ongoing discovery, experience benchmarking, and continuous learning loops.
  • Collaborate with enabling functions (e.g., marketing, sales, operations) to communicate new experience features and identify areas for improvement.

Content Design and Development

  • Create user journey maps and personas to inform tone, messaging, and content structure.
  • Develop content prototypes and messaging frameworks to visualize and test communication strategies.
  • Conduct usability testing and gather feedback to iterate and improve content across the product lifecycle.
  • Work within an agile environment and champion the integration of content across the product development lifecycle, ensuring consistency and adherence to brand standards.
Basic Qualifications:
  • BS/MS in English, Communications, Journalism, UX Writing, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in content strategy, UX writing, or copywriting across digital platforms.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing impactful product copy and strategic content systems.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with a sensitivity to tone, clarity, and user experience.
  • Experience creating scalable content frameworks and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in content and design tools such as Figma, Google Docs, and CMS platforms.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive language practices.
  • Fluent in English and experienced in working with distributed teams across multiple time zones.
