Job DescriptionData science professional to lead a team of Data Scientists and Analysts to design, implement and deploy advanced machine learning / artificial intelligence algorithms across multiple domains including, but not limited to, pharma, healthcare, media and programmable ads. These analyses tasks will involve developing original code and leveraging EVERSANA’s existing healthcare analytics platform to provide analytic content in support of EVERSANA project work, RFP responses and other business needs. This professional will be a member of EVERSANA’s analytics team, reporting to VP of Data Science, and will manage junior Data Scientists and guide them in their day-to-day client project design and delivery activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Develop and apply data mining and machine learning techniques and models to extract analytic insights from healthcare and non-healthcare data sets.
- Develop software solutions and applications using SQL, Python, and/or R.
- Responsible for review, generation, and delivery of analytic products in support of project work, RFP responses and other business needs.
- Responsible for the successful management of different projects within defined timelines while meeting the objectives provided, identifying and managing cross-functional resources required to adequately perform the tasks at hand.
- Act in a supervisory role to junior analysts/data scientists.
- Support and supervise the development of visualizations and presentations for client deliverables.
- Interface with EVERSANA analysts, data scientists, clinicians and program managers and with EVERSANA customers.
- Respond to additional ad-hoc analysis requests.

QualificationsMINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
The requirements listed below are representative of the experience, education, knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.
- Education:
- Degree in any of the following majors: Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Bioinformatics, Physics, Statistics
- BS/MS degree in one of the above listed majors, PhD desirable
- Experience and/or Training:
- At least 5 years of experience in data analytics and modeling, preferably around healthcare claims data and commercial analytics in the life science industry
- Practical knowledge of statistics, statistical inference, and machine learning algorithms (deep learning, LSTM, XGBoost, SHAP, LLM, GraphML,, GAN, and reinforcement learning)
- Hands-on experience and proficiency in SQL, Python, python, pandas, scikit-learn, numpy, scipy, R, visualization tools, and software development within a Linux environment
- Deep commercial awareness of the healthcare, health technology and pharmaceutical industry, gained through experience
- High level of knowledge and analytic experience with real world data sources (e.g., EHR/EMR data, RWD, healthcare prescription / claims databases) as well as comprehensive understanding of the RWD supply chain and reimbursement policies
- Expertise in healthcare industry terminology and coding (e.g. NDC11, ICD9/ ICD10, HCPCS, CPT, LOINC)
- Works independently and is a self-starter
- MS PowerPoint presentation development skills
- Client interface and presentation skills
- Ability to lead by example
- Strong organizational skills, including ability to manage multiple deliverables across multiple projects
- Significant consideration will be given to prior publications, independent software projects completed, and non-proprietary code authored by the candidate.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
- Experience and/or Training:
- Over 10 years of experience in data science, with significant experience in a leadership role within the life sciences industry.
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Python, R, SQL, TensorFlow, Hadoop).
- Proven leadership experience, including managing teams and leading cross-functional projects.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans based on data-driven insights.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights to diverse audiences.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- In-depth understanding of the life sciences market, including key trends, regulatory environment, and competitive landscape.
- Proven track record of driving innovation in data science methodologies and applications.
- Strong ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including researchers, product managers, and business leaders.
- Technology/Equipment:
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL for data analysis and model development.
- Experience with data analysis and visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and Jupyter Notebooks.
- Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure for deploying and managing data science solutions.
- Proficiency in database management systems like MySQL, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
- Knowledge of statistical software packages like SAS or SPSS for advanced statistical analysis.
