Weber Shandwick is seeking a Manager to join our Integrated Media team within our Consumer Brand Practice.

We’re seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Manager with deep lifestyle and entertainment expertise to join our Integrated Media team on the West Coast.

The ideal candidate is passionate about consumer culture and brings a strong point of view on what’s trending across media, social platforms, and the broader cultural landscape. You are deeply immersed in lifestyle, entertainment, men’s lifestyle, and sports, and possess a growing network of media relationships in these areas.

As a Manager, you will have the opportunity to work on top-tier consumer brands, bringing culturally relevant stories to life and executing high-energy moments designed to earn attention and drive conversation.

What You Will Be Doing

Shape Integrated Media Strategy

  • You’ll play an important role in shaping integrated earned media strategies across our diverse portfolio of clients, specifically in the consumer/lifestyle space.
  • Help design integration across earned media, inclusive of traditional media (dot-com, broadcast), emerging platforms (e.g., Substack), and social, by developing ideas built to travel, be shared, and spark conversation.

Strategic Media & Creator Relations:

  • Serve as a key day-to-day client contact, developing strategic earned media campaigns, action plans, and culturally relevant story angles that resonate with target audiences.
  • Generate a consistent pipeline of timely, culture-forward story ideas, draft engaging media materials, and proactively pitch to land high-impact earned coverage.
  • Leverage and continue building a strong network of media and creator relationships, treating creators as drivers of earned conversation and cultural relevance.
  • Develop and manage targeted media and creator lists, incorporating a diverse mix of voices (editors, producers, writers, Substack authors, creators, etc.) to achieve client goals.

Client Counsel & Collaboration:

  • Provide regular updates and thoughtful counsel to clients, establishing yourself as a trusted advisor on earned media strategy and execution.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the client’s business and objectives, bridging creative thinking with a strategic, client-focused mindset.
  • Work collaboratively with strategists and creative teams to deliver ideas that are both culturally relevant and aligned to business goals.

Trend-Spotting & Creative Ideation:

  • Maintain a strong pulse on culture by monitoring trends across media, TikTok, social platforms, and the competitive landscape to identify real-time opportunities.
  • Analyze and distill meaningful insights from media coverage and cultural trends, sharing actionable perspectives with both internal teams, clients to inform strategy.
  • Contribute consistently to creative ideation, bringing forward culturally relevant story ideas for evergreen pitch angles and campaign implementation.

Program & Event Management:

  • Develop and manage timelines, project budgets, and weekly action plans to ensure all program deadlines are met.
  • Lead execution of media activations and events, from concept through delivery of special public relations events, from media stunts to product launches.
  • Anticipate and proactively offer solutions for executional issues that may arise during a program.

Team & Agency Leadership:

  • Serve as a role model and guide for junior team members, helping to develop their skills and drive results.
  • Actively participate in agency development initiatives and contribute to new business opportunities as needed.

  • Executional Excellence – manage multiple workstreams with strong attention to detail, ensuring high-quality delivery

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations
  • 3 to 4 years’ relevant consumer lifestyle and/or consumer tech
  • Strong Writer
  • Media relations experience with a track record of securing top-tier consumer coverage
  • Familiarity with modern media, including podcasts and creator-led platforms
  • Adaptable, resourceful, and collaborative, with strong project management skills

Salary Range: $78,000 USD – $88,000 USD

Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
