Summary
The Manager Workday Financials is responsible for the configuration, optimization, and ongoing support of Workday Finance modules. This role partners closely with Finance stakeholders and the Workday Solution Center to ensure business needs are effectively translated into system capabilities. The Manager contributes to roadmap planning, supports prioritization of enhancements, and ensures reliable day-to-day system operations.
This role works in close collaboration with Finance leadership to understand priorities, challenges, and opportunities where Workday can drive value within the functional domain.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee the configuration and ongoing support of assigned Workday Finance modules.
- Manage enhancement intake, backlog tracking, and prioritization in coordination with stakeholders and the Platform Manager.
- Support Workday Feature Release reviews, assess impacts, and coordinate implementation activities.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for Finance stakeholders, including managing escalations and issue resolution.
- Provide day-to-day leadership and guidance to a team of Finance Architects, Configurators, and Analysts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize changes and enhancements based on business needs.
- Facilitate requirements gathering sessions and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) execution.
- Monitor case management processes and ensure timely resolution of system issues, including high-impact items.
- Ensure adherence to governance, standards, and best practices in system configuration and support.
Knowledge – Skills – Abilities
- Working knowledge of Workday Financials modules.
- Understanding of product management concepts, with ability to support roadmap execution.
- Ability to translate business requirements into system configurations and scalable solutions.
- Familiarity with integrations and finance-related system architecture.
- Experience supporting system implementations, enhancements, or deployments.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage priorities across multiple stakeholders and initiatives.
- Team leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop others.
Qualifications
Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis
Minimum Required Education: Bachelor’s degree
Minimum Required Experience: 6+ years of progressive experience working with Workday platforms, including significant hands-on expertise in at least two of the following: FDM, Grants, Projects, Procurement
3+ years of leadership or team lead experience

Physical Requirements
Work requires occasionally lifting moderate weight materials, standing, or walking continuously.
Work Environment
Occasional exposure to dust, noise, temperature changes, or contact with water or other liquids. Work is performed in an environmentally controlled environment.
Sensory Acuity
Ability to detect and translate speech or other communication required. May occasionally require the ability to distinguish colors and perceive relative distances between objects.
