The Manager, Financial Operations oversees the school’s day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, account management, and financial controls. The position supervises financial staff, ensures the accuracy and timeliness of financial activities, strengthens financial processes and internal controls, and provides financial support to School and department leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Financial Operations and Budget Management: Oversee the School’s annual budget process and monitor the School's day-to-day financial activities, including fund balances, cash flow, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and variances reporting.

  • Financial Transaction Oversight: Oversee financial transaction review and approval processes, ensure appropriate controls and consistent application of institutional requirements, and provide guidance and resolution for complex or escalated financial matters.

  • Financial Reporting and Forecasting: Prepare and/or direct the preparation of financial statements, management reports, forecasts, annual budgets, and other financial analyses and reports required by departments, School and institutional leadership.

  • Financial Controls and Compliance: Establish and monitor financial controls and procedures, ensure compliance with institutional policies and applicable requirements, and identify and resolve financial or compliance issues.

  • Process Improvement: Evaluate financial processes and workflows and implement improvements to strengthen accuracy, efficiency, consistency, accountability, and financial management practices.

  • Staff Management: Supervise employees performing financial and accounting functions; establish work priorities and performance expectations; review work quality and timeliness; and provide coaching, training, and performance management.

  • Financial Planning and Leadership Support: Support the Associate Dean for Finance and Administration in financial planning, resource management, and implementation of School financial priorities and initiatives.

  • Audit and Institutional Coordination: Coordinate and support financial reviews and audits and collaborate with institutional offices and other stakeholders to resolve financial and operational matters.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of financial operations, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and internal controls.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency with financial systems, Microsoft Suite, and reporting tools.

  • Ability to perform duties and responsibilities promptly and consistently with little direct supervision in planning and organizing his/her work.

  •  Demonstrated ability to improve financial processes and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Strong supervisory, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Bachelor's degree is required.
