About SGBFF & The Team

The Sandberg Goldberg Bernthal Family Foundation works to build a more equal and resilient world. We bring people together through four initiatives: LeanIn.Org, LeanInGirls.Org, OptionB.Org, and the Dave Goldberg Scholarship Program.

Through community, research-based content, and programs, we help women and allies build the skills, confidence, and networks they need to reach their full potential.

About the Dave Goldberg Scholarship Program

Dave Goldberg built companies that changed industries — and believed just as fiercely that every young person, regardless of background, deserved the same shot he had. The scholarship program bearing his name reflects that: going beyond tuition support to provide first generation college students with mentorship, career guidance, and a community that carries them through college and into their first jobs. More than 90% of our first cohort have graduated and are now employed or in graduate school — well above the national average for low-income students. We're building on that foundation.

About the Role

We are seeking a versatile, mission-driven rising leader to join our team and play a key role in program leadership and operations.

This role is ideal for someone ambitious and eager to grow — excited to wear a few different hats and gain experience across program management and operations. Your primary role will be leading the Goldberg Scholar Program, where you'll own the relationships, events, and scholar support that help young leaders thrive. You'll also contribute to keeping the Foundation's operations running smoothly and efficiently.

A through line across both areas of work: a willingness to leverage AI tools to work smarter, move faster, and free up time for the human connection that defines our mission. We're a lean, agile team, and we believe AI-savvy operators are the future — both for organizations like ours and for the scholars we serve.

The ideal candidate is strategic and detail-oriented, with the ability to own projects from start to finish. You are as comfortable designing efficient systems as you are building strong relationships with scholars, alumni, partners, and leadership. Above all, you are collaborative and passionate about empowering the next generation of leaders.

What You Will Do

Goldberg Scholarships Program Management (Primary Focus- ~75%)

    Partnerships

  • Serve as the primary contact for all scholarship partners — including employer and nonprofit partners — fostering relationships that advance the program's mission

  • Develop and execute a strategy to create and expand internship and job opportunities for scholars, cultivating employer partners who can offer meaningful roles and speak to how AI is reshaping their industries

  • Represent the Foundation at partner events and in community settings

  • Scholar and Mentor Experience

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for scholars and mentors, building strong relationships and providing direct, individualized support — connecting scholars to professional, academic, and leadership opportunities throughout their college journey and into their first jobs

  • Lead planning and execution of the annual scholar conference (100+ participants), managing logistics, program content, and the overall scholar experience

  • Design and manage scholar engagement throughout the year — workshops, networking events, webinars, and programming that builds practical skills, AI literacy, and career readiness for a rapidly evolving job market

  • Develop and lead an intentional community-building strategy for scholars and alumni — creating the connections, rituals, and touchpoints that turn a cohort into a lasting network

  • Track scholar progress and outcomes, using data to inform program improvements

  • Prepare materials for leadership engagements with scholars and partners

  • Scholarship Operations

  • Manage scholarship disbursements and payment processes, ensuring scholars receive awards accurately and on time

  • Coordinate vendors and contractors who support scholar programming and events

  • Broader Operational Support (~25%)

Support foundation-wide operations and process improvement — with a particular focus on identifying opportunities to leverage AI and automation for greater efficiency. Recent examples include streamlining recurring finance workflows and supporting AI learning and development across the team.

What You Will Bring

  • 5+ years of experience, ideally in program or project management

  • Strong relationship-building and cross-cultural communication skills

  • Commitment to expanding opportunities for young leaders

  • Proven project management and organizational skills, with significant attention to detail

  • Comfort and curiosity with AI tools — you actively use them to work smarter and are excited to help others do the same

  • Experience managing payments, financial processes, or vendor coordination

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Location

This role is based in San Francisco with a hybrid schedule -- three days in the office per week (currently Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday), with remote flexibility otherwise. In-office work begins in September 2026.

The Sandberg Goldberg Bernthal Family Foundation is committed to Equal Employment Opportunity without regard to age, race, ethnicity, gender, protected veteran status, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, or religion. It’s important to us that people of all identities and backgrounds see themselves represented and included in our work, so we actively encourage people of all identities and experiences to apply.
