About the Digital Engagement and Marketing team:  

The Digital Marketing (DIG) team is responsible for LA28’s marketing efforts and within DIG sits the integrated marketing function. Integrated marketing develops go-to-market plans for all fan-facing programs. We lead the marketing approach, messaging strategy, narrative direction, campaign development and go-to-market execution for the portfolio of LA28 programs including Ticketing, Volunteer, Torch, Mascot and more.  

Integrated marketing works cross-functionally with our DIG counterparts who lead the LA28 social, web, email and app platforms, as well as with a wide range of internal Functional Areas and external stakeholders. It is our responsibility to bring it all together, ensuring every program reaches the right audience with the right message across the right platforms. 

About the Role: The Manager, Integrated Marketing - Narrative will be responsible for bringing to life the voice of the LA28 Games across all fan-facing touchpoints with a focus on owned digital platforms (social, email, web, app). The candidate should have a strong copywriting background with the ability to execute copy across a multitude of channels and asset types and move seamlessly between execution, editing and strategic work.  

In addition to copy execution, this candidate will contribute to strategic and conceptual projects including, but not limited to, positioning and narrative strategies, messaging development, campaign ideation and naming strategies. The role will require someone who is energized by a fast-moving, highly collaborative environment and able to intake, synthesize and simplify lots of information quickly. The ideal candidate prides themselves on the production of flawless work, caring as much about comma placement as campaign concepts. This person will be a key protector of the LA28 brand and a key contributor in building a legacy for the Olympic and Paralympic Movement. This role reports to the Sr. Manager, Integrated Marketing. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Craft copy in the LA28 brand voice for social, web, app and email, inclusive of video scripts 
  • Interpret and implement messaging strategies across multiple channels and asset types 
  • Review and copyedit all written content produced by the marketing team  
  • Brainstorm original social-first content in alignment with key brand initiatives 
  • Develop messaging briefing documents that guide others to be able to create content in support of key programs  
  • Organize and track incoming copy requests  
  • Work with internal stakeholders to secure copy approval and legal clearance 
Background & Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 
  • Minimum 5+ years of copywriting experience in-house or at an agency  
  • Experience with mastering multiple complex brand voices with nuanced stylization systems  
  • Experience in fast-paced environments, juggling multiple projects and priorities at once 
  • Familiarity with content, approvals and project management tools (Asana, Smartsheet, etc.) 
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, inclusive of Word, Excel and Outlook 
  • Comfortable working with AI tools, preferably Google Gemini  
  • Skilled deck-maker and presenter

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Available to work onsite in our Downtown Los Angeles-based office
  • The majority of work will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment   
  • The LA28 office is an open floorplan working environment; employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle environment   
  • Hours of work may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak event periods  
  • Perform other duties as required; the role will evolve over time and may include operational responsibilities during the Olympic and Paralympic Games  

The annual base salary range for this position is $88,000.00 - $115,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
