To advance the purpose of InterVarsity, this position will serve a key role in cultivating and caring for InterVarsity’s legacy ministry partners. This position blends thoughtful relationship stewardship with strong project management—ensuring that legacy partners are known, valued, and meaningfully connected to the ongoing impact of their generosity.
Working closely with the Director of Strategic Donor Engagement and the Estate and Planned Giving team, this role coordinates communications, reporting, and ministry partner experiences that reflect both excellence and pastoral attentiveness. The ideal candidate is both a strong writer and an organized executor—able to translate ministry impact into compelling narratives while managing multiple projects and stakeholders with care.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Legacy Stewardship and Ministry Partner Experience

  • Execute a comprehensive stewardship plan for estate and gift planning ministry partners ensuring consistent, personalized and relational engagement.
  • Coordinate and deliver touchpoints (communications, updates, recognition) that reflect each ministry partner’s intent and legacy.
  • Partner with gift officers to support continuity, trust, and depth in ministry partner relationships

Strategy & Systems Development

  • Design and refine the stewardship strategy for gift planning ministry partners, including segmentation, communication rhythms, and engagement pathways.
  • Build and maintain systems that track ministry partner engagement, milestones, and follow-through.
  • Identify opportunities to deepen ministry partner connection through new content, experiences, or approaches.

Project Management & Coordination

  • Lead coordination of stewardship projects including impact reports, ministry partner updates, and communication cycles.
  • Manage timelines, workflows, and deliverables across teams (Development Services, Communications, and external partners).
  • Create simple, effective tracking systems to ensure follow-through and visibility.

Ministry Partner Communications & Storytelling

  • Draft and edit communications, including stewardship letters, impact reports, campaign updates, and personalized outreach.
  • Translate ministry outcomes into clear, compelling stories that connect legacy giving to present and future impact.
  • Partner with Communications to ensure alignment in voice, tone, and brand.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Annually affirm InterVarsity’s Statement of Faith
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field required
  • 3–5 years of experience in development, communications, project management, or related field.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to communicate impact clearly and compellingly.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills; able to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
  • Relational intelligence and attentiveness to ministry partner care; able to operate with discretion and pastoral sensitivity.
  • Experience with estate and gift planning planned giving or estate ministry partners is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to travel 1-3 times a year for team meetings or conferences.
  • A working knowledge of current Microsoft Software applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to work in a diverse team environment

Pay Range: $49,296.00 - $65,724.00 per year
