Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Managing Editor to serve as the final quality-control authority for all client- and prospect-facing marketing communications. The primary purpose of this role is to ensure that everything we publish — across email, print, digital, and presentation formats — is accurate, polished, consistent, and fully aligned with our brand and client communication standards before it goes out the door.

This role is less about generating new ideas and more about protecting quality, accuracy, and execution across a high volume of materials produced by multiple teams. You will act as the last line of defense, reviewing not only the written word, but also links, formatting, capitalization, brand usage, and details that affect client trust.

Essential Job Functions for this role include:

Editorial Review & Quality Control

  • Review all written content—including articles, blogs, guides, sales collateral, PowerPoints, forms, and emails—to ensure accuracy, clarity, brand voice alignment, and AP style adherence
  • Proofread and edit for grammar, spelling, tone, structure, and audience appropriateness
  • Fact-check content, including financial concepts, dates, times, locations, disclosures, and links
  • Manage day-to-day publishing operations, ensuring content is delivered accurately, on time, and at a high standard
  • Edit and rewrite content, headlines, and subject lines as needed to better highlight core ideas, insights, and featured offerings
  • Help track, analyze, and report on key performance indicators to inform editorial and content strategy
  • Support light project management related to editorial workflows and publishing schedules

Client & Prospect Communications

  • Review and frequently write client and prospect communications, ensuring they align with our client communications style—clear, professional, and approachable
  • Serve as the final editorial reviewer for all outbound emails, including newsletters, event invitations, and announcements
  • Own execution of monthly newsletters

Cross-Team Editorial Oversight

  • Review materials produced by other marketing teams to ensure consistency with brand voice, editorial standards, and audience expectations
  • Act as an editorial partner to stakeholders across marketing, helping elevate clarity and effectiveness of content

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, English, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Experience working with AP Style (strongly preferred)
  • Proven ability to edit content for both accuracy and audience understanding, particularly in a professional or financial services environment
  • Comfortable reviewing a high volume of content across formats and channels
  • Highly organized, deadline-driven, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience collaborating with writers, designers, and cross-functional marketing teams
  • Experience in the financial industry a plus

Work Schedule:

This professional role requires availability during standard business hours of Monday through Friday from 8AM to 5PM.  At times, the role may have early or late hours to meet business tasks and deadlines for external and internal client needs.

All roles classified as a non-exempt are required to record working time into the timekeeping system daily at the start and end of each workday plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch period.

Working Conditions:

This position may be in a professional office environment or a dedicated home office workspace which is free of interruptions.  Whether position is in a dedicated office space or home office workspace, basic technology needs will be provided to satisfy position requirements.  Routinely sitting and standing for periods of time.
