  • Drive NEPA and state-level impact assessments that shape policy and practice.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary experts to deliver innovative, fit-for-purpose solutions for energy clients.

  • Ensure projects meet regulatory requirements while balancing environmental stewardship and business objectives.

What You’ll Bring

Required:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental science/engineering, biology/ecology, planning, or related field.

  • 4+ years of experience in impact assessment and environmental permitting, ideally in a consulting environment.

  • Strong knowledge of NEPA, Clean Water Act Sections 401/404, Endangered Species Act, and equivalent state/local regulations.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.

  • Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.

  • This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Preferred:

  • 6+ years of experience in impact assessment and permitting.

  • Expertise in NEPA and CEQA documentation, Bureau of Land Management and US Forest Service permitting, and state requirements (AZ, NV, CA).

  • Experience with California Coastal Zone permitting under the California Coastal Commission or Local Coastal Plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver technical analyses and impact assessment reports for energy projects.

  • Support large-scale compliance programs, including data management and stakeholder communication.

  • Organize and execute field surveys, data reviews, and regulatory documentation.

  • Collaborate with ERM teams nationwide on environmental impact assessments, land planning, facility siting, and risk management.

  • Maintain quality, budget, and schedule expectations while ensuring compliance with ERM standards.

  • Engage directly with clients and subject matter experts on environmental science and permitting strategies.

For the Managing Technical Consultant, Power and Renewables position, the anticipated annual base pay is $93,050 – $124,245 (USD). Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range. This role may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are not bonus eligible).

We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, parental leave, medical, dental, vision, life, disability, AD&D insurance, 401(k) or RRSP/DPSP, and other applicable benefits to eligible employees.
