Job Responsibilities:
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Post-secondary education in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering
- Minimum three (3) years work-related experience within a lean manufacturing environment, preferably automotive assembly
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Practical experience in costing and quoting
- Experience in Project Management
- Able to read and interpret CAD drawings, experience with AutoCAD
- Ability to work overtime to meet customer needs
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages mid-sized projects from planning through completion with moderate oversight.
- Conducts manpower efficiency studies using time and motion analysis, line balancing, and related methods.
- Collaborates with departments and customers to enhance production efficiency, ergonomics, safety, and maintenance.
- Supports continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversees tooling design, build, approval processes, and capital budgets.
- Supervises equipment relocation and installation at Modatek.
- Assists in resolving quality issues.
- Coordinates implementation of customer-approved engineering changes, including communication, part, process, and tooling updates.
- Updates and maintains plant layout documentation.
- Handles additional assigned projects and duties as needed.
WORKER HEALTH AND SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains safety standards of equipment and work area and perform all duties in a safe manner in accordance with the safety policies of Modatek Systems
- Performs all duties in a safe manner in accordance with Section 28 of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulation 851 for Industrial Establishments
WORK AND PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:
- Office environment, but may be exposed to elements such as temperature and noise during time spent in the plant
- Flexible to travel to meet customer demands
- Physically able to perform the essential duties of the position
