About the TeamHowmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is a business unit of Howmet Aerospace, headquartered in Torrance, California. We hold the number one global position in aerospace fastening systems, and we’re the North American leader in commercial transportation fasteners. Our high-tech, multi-material fastening systems are found nose to tail on aircraft and aerospace engines. Position Overview:
As a Manufacturing Operations Supervisor Processing/Deburring, 1st shift, you'll be part of our Fullerton, CA team working as an onsite employee.
Key Responsibilities:
- Run a safe, injury/accident-free workplace.
- Responsible for daily management and leadership of all resources assigned.' Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to: Schedule adherence, productivity, personnel development, time and attendance, training and establishing/monitoring departmental goals.
- Enhance the operational procedures, processes and systems to improve operational efficiencies.
- Work independently and within a team while coordinating with other Departmental Leaders and/or Managers to achieve Daily/Weekly/Monthly goals and objectives.
- Interprets company policies to workers, leads by example and enforces all Federal, State and local regulations.
- Deploys team members to both strategically and tactically engage in cross functional problem solving to improve production efficiencies and product quality.
- Conducts performance appraisals and manages work performance of all subordinates.
- Exercises final department recommendations regarding retention, separation, or changes in wages.
- Keeps accurate records pertaining to all facets of operation.
- Escalates irreconcilable problems to the attention of the appropriate plant management/HR.
- Formulates and maintains highest standards of housekeeping (5S) in all areas assigned.
- Reports and rectifies any actual or perceived EH&S problems within scope of responsibility.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, or a combination of appropriate related work experience and education/training.
- Extensive experience with processing/deburring, chemical processing.
- 6+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience and responsibility. Aerospace and/or Automotive experience preferred.
- Expert ability to read and interpret blueprints, methods of manufacturing, machine code, tabular data and other related technical documentation.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications from recognized institutions like the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) can be advantageous.
Salary Range:
The base pay range for this position in California is $105,400.00 - 147,500.00 USD/year. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on payment may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
