Description

Job Summary:

Support the Manufacturing Manager by leading daily production execution and frontline team coordination. Ensure work is performed safely, on time, and according to standard work. Focus on daily oversight, issue detection, basic containment, training execution, and escalation to protect quality and delivery.

Essential Functions:

· Leadership, Management & Accountability: Assist the Manufacturing Manager in overseeing and assigning technicians’ schedules, prioritizing shop orders, and monitoring team morale. Conduct individual check-ins, goal tracking, and performance reviews, including crucial or disciplinary conversations, to ensure team effectiveness and engagement.

· Training & Development: Identify, assign, and document required training for manufacturing technicians. Maintain accurate Training Records and support skill development initiatives to meet production and safety standards.

· Operational Coordination: Coordinate with other departments, field questions, provide solutions, and make daily announcements to ensure smooth workflow and communication across the organization.

· Work Environment & Production Oversight: Ensure work environments are prepared and maintained before and after shifts, anticipate and prevent shortages or downtime, and verify all work conforms to written work instructions and quality standards.

· Flexibility & Additional Support: Work overtime as needed and perform other duties as assigned to support manufacturing operations.

Requirements

Education:

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Bachelor's Degree Preferred.

Experience:

2+ years of relevant manufacturing experience required.

2+ years of supervisory experience required.

Skills and Abilities Summary:

· Technical Interpretation & Manufacturing Knowledge

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications; knowledgeable in manufacturing processes and calibration.

· Specialized Fabrication Skills

Experienced with laser and TIG welding, clean room assembly, and soldering.

· Documentation & Time Management

Familiar with shop paperwork, labor tracking, and demonstrates strong time management skills.

· Leadership & Communication

Effective leadership and communication abilities; proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking) with bilingual Spanish/English preferred.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

This position may require prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and computer use. The role also involves climbing stairs multiple times per day and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs. Occasional travel may be required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
