Our team of 65+ is composed of experts in renewable energy, project & corporate finance, tax equity and tax credits, policy, and technology and AI.

An inflection point in American energy and manufacturing

Energy demand is growing for the first time in 20 years, driven by surging manufacturing, transportation, electrification, and data centers. Simultaneously, hundreds of billions of dollars are being invested in domestic supply chains for critical minerals and components. Developers and manufacturers will require trillions of dollars in capital to meet growing needs.

Before Crux, the capital markets supporting this transformation remained opaque, fragmented, and complex. At Crux, we recognized the missing infrastructure: a central capital markets platform designed specifically for the next century of American energy and industry. We unlock faster decision making, lower cost of capital, and accelerated investment.

The Role

Crux is seeking a Market Intelligence Lead to support policy analysis, research initiatives, and client-facing insights across climate, energy, and sustainability issues. This role is ideal for someone who excels at delivering complex policy and market intelligence to sophisticated developer and lender audiences, grounding their thinking in hard data at the intersection of energy, finance, and climate policy.

You’ll work closely with senior team members across the organization to brief project developers and investors on market and policy developments, conduct original research, and help translate findings into compelling written products for clients, partners, and public audiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor, analyze, and summarize climate, energy, and sustainability policy developments at the federal, state, and international levels

  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative research on topics such as clean energy deployment, tax credits, climate finance, and regulatory frameworks

  • Support the development of policy briefs, custom research reports, client memos, presentations, and thought leadership content

  • Synthesize complex legislation, regulations, and policy proposals into clear, concise, and actionable insights

  • Assist with data analysis, modeling inputs, and scenario assessments derived from owned and third-party data sources

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support client engagements and strategic advisory work

  • Support external engagement, including webinars, roundtables, and conference speaking as needed

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in public policy, economics, environmental studies, energy systems, or a related field preferred

  • 8-10 years of relevant experience in policy research, analysis, consulting, or energy-focused investment firms

  • Strong understanding of U.S. financial markets; familiarity with tax credits (e.g., IRA), regulatory processes, or energy markets is required

  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills — you can turn dense policy into something people actually want to read

  • Comfort working with data, spreadsheets, and policy trackers (basic quantitative skills required; advanced modeling a plus)

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Enormous self-starter with strong judgment and the ability to work independently while collaborating with a small team
