The Market Surveillance Analyst will monitor trading activities, conduct post-trade reviews, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with various teams at Crypto.com. Responsibilities include detecting potential violations, conducting investigations, and preparing reports.
Crypto.com - Derivatives North America (“CDNA”) presents a unique opportunity for a full time Analyst to join its Market Regulation team. CDNA is a U.S. derivatives exchange registered with and regulated by the CFTC as a contract market and clearing organization. CDNA currently offers fully-collateralized event contracts and will be offering traditional futures products in the near future. The Market Regulation Department is responsible for enforcing the Exchange’s rules through market advisories, investigations, trade surveillance, and disciplinary actions.
In this position you will be responsible for detecting and investigating trading activity in derivatives markets to detect potential violations of Exchange rules and CFTC Regulations applicable to trading across multiple asset classes traded on CDNA markets, and provide guidance to market participants based on their dynamic needs. You must be professional, proactive, analytical, able to collaborate with others and create efficient, innovative approaches to gathering and analyzing data, and communicate clearly and concisely.
- Responsibilities Include:
Real-Time Market Monitoring
- Monitor trading activity across crypto, binary options, and futures platforms to detect suspicious patterns, manipulation, or abusive behavior.
- Utilize surveillance tools and dashboards to flag anomalies and escalate concerns.
Trade Analysis & Investigation
- Conduct post-trade reviews and forensic analysis of flagged transactions.
- Conduct investigations of potential rule violations by obtaining testimony, compiling records and drafting investigative reports for presentation to the Chief Regulatory Officer.
- Prepare detailed reports on findings and recommend appropriate actions.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure adherence to applicable regulations (e.g., SEC, CFTC, FINRA, MiFID II, FCA, etc.) and internal policies.
- Assist in preparing responses to regulatory inquiries and audits.
Policy Development & Enforcement
- Contribute to the development and refinement of surveillance protocols and compliance frameworks.
- Support enforcement of KYC/AML procedures and transaction monitoring.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Legal, Risk, and Technology teams to improve surveillance systems and compliance workflows.
- Liaise with external regulators and industry bodies as needed.
Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Math or Juris Doctorate.
- 3+ years in Compliance in financial services, or equivalent experience.
- Strong Analytical and communication skills.
- Familiarity with futures markets, commodities and trading.
- Familiarity with Trade Surveillance Platforms is a plus.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-starter who can prioritize and meet deadline pressure.
- Comfortable working in a fast paced, high-stress environment.
- Ability to communicate with market participants, federal regulators and executive management.
- Knowledge of futures exchange operations, trading, risk management or regulations.
