IXL Learning, developer of personalized learning products used by millions of people globally, is seeking a full-time Marketing Associate to help launch and grow Takeoff by IXL, our new core math curriculum.

Choosing a core curriculum is a major, multi-year decision, and it usually involves committee reviews, classroom pilots, and strict adoption processes set by districts and states. As a new entrant in this market, Takeoff needs marketing that builds credibility, supports rigorous evaluation, and gives educators and decision-makers the information they need at every stage, from first awareness to full adoption.

In this role, you’ll help bring Takeoff to national and regional markets. You’ll create materials that introduce the program to educators who have never heard of it, give review committees the materials they need to evaluate it, support districts through pilots, and turn early customer success into proof that builds confidence. You’ll partner closely with our sales team to bring national campaigns into regional outreach timed to each state’s and district’s decision process. We’re looking for a strong writer and communicator who is creative, organized, proactive, and passionate about IXL’s mission to improve education.

This is a full-time position that requires you to be in our IXL headquarters office in San Mateo, CA.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
  • Partner with Sales to understand district and review committee priorities, questions, and objections throughout the adoption process
  • Write and develop marketing and sales materials that meet those needs, from initial awareness through evaluation, pilot, and purchase. These may include overview brochures, evaluation guides, pilot resources, objection-handling resources, emails, web copy, event materials, and customer case studies.
  • Coordinate national and regional campaign rollouts timed to state and district adoption cycles, ensuring the right messaging and materials reach each market ahead of key decision points
  • Help identify and develop customer proof points, including educator feedback, implementation stories, and results that build confidence in Takeoff
  • Collaborate with colleagues from various teams, including product managers and graphic designers, to manage projects from start to finish
  • Help keep a pulse on core math curriculum trends, adoption cycles, and the competitive landscape, and share insights with marketing and sales
  • Track campaign performance, such as email engagement, event response, lead activity, and field feedback, and use these learnings to improve future outreach
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • BA/BS degree and 2–4 years of solid marketing experience in a professional environment
  • Written communication: You are an exceptional writer and know how to make every word count. You can switch easily from writing messaging about a new product feature, to crafting an impactful marketing email, to creating attention-grabbing invitation headlines
  • Sales partnership: Experience working with a sales team is a plus
  • Interpersonal skills: You’re a team player, have excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with people at all levels
  • You get things done: You’re a self starter, detail-oriented, organized, resourceful, can manage projects from start to finish and juggle multiple deadlines
  • You have knowledge of, or an interest in, education/edtech and can learn about the industry quickly
  • Experience with Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides
  • Experience with Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop is a plus
