About Us

Radical Numerics is an AI research lab building general biological intelligence. Our mission is to master the code of life, and our purpose is to reduce human suffering.

Our team created Evo, and started the field of generative genomics. Our work was featured on the cover of Science, and presented by our CEO on the main stage of TED2025. Evo was used to create the first AI gene therapy tool CRISPR-Cas9, and the first AI whole genome from scratch. Evo 2, featured in Nature, is the largest fully open source AI project across any domain.

Radical Numerics is bringing the rigor of distributed systems, model architecture, and numerics research to the challenges of biology. We’ve redesigned the foundation model training stack to turn the world’s raw scientific data (e.g. biological sequences, experiments, and physical processes), into intelligible, generative models that can expand and accelerate what humanity can understand, design, and cure.

The same generative breakthroughs that enable life-saving cures also lowers the barrier to creating engineered threats and AI-generated bioweapons. We believe these forces are inseparable. Radical Numerics was founded to develop both the power to design and the responsibility to defend.

About the Role

Radical Numerics is looking for a Marketing Associate to help build and scale our marketing function. As our first dedicated marketing hire, you'll own the execution of our marketing and communications initiatives, turning complex technical work into clear, compelling stories for customers, partners, and the broader scientific community.

You'll help drive projects from concept through execution, including our website, technical videos, product content, educational explainers, conference materials, and digital campaigns. You'll coordinate cross-functional efforts across the company, working closely with our researchers and engineers to translate cutting-edge research into impactful marketing, while managing external agencies and creative partners as needed.

This is a hands-on role at a fast-moving startup where you'll have significant ownership and broad responsibility from day one. Success will come from strong judgment, resourcefulness, and a bias toward action. If you enjoy bringing structure to ambiguity, juggling multiple priorities, and delivering high-quality work across a wide range of marketing initiatives, you'll thrive in this role.

What You'll Do
Project and Vendor Management

  • Drive execution of major marketing projects, e.g.,website design, company videos.

  • Source, brief, and manage specialized vendors and freelancers (designers, video producers, developers) for work that's better built externally

  • Coordinate with production vendors like Draftspace using the same model as our last release: the internal team writes the content, you manage the process, timeline, and vendor relationship to get it produced and shipped

  • Track timelines, budgets, and deliverables across multiple concurrent workstreams

Content and Campaigns

  • Coordinate video projects — from company vision to technical explainers — pairing internal researchers and engineers on content with outside vendors on production

  • Partner with the technical team, who write the substance of technical and research-adjacent content; you shape it for the audience, manage production, and help to get it published

  • Own execution of Radical Numerics' social and web presence with a consistent voice

  • Support demand generation across email, content, and events

Event and Marketing Ops

  • Plan and execute Radical Numerics' presence at scientific conferences, industry events, and government forums, coordinating logistics, messaging, and post-event follow-up to maximize impact.

  • Manage event timelines, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure high-quality execution from planning through completion.

  • Use modern marketing automation, CRM, and analytics tools to streamline workflows, measure performance, and maximize the impact of a lean marketing team.

  • Build and improve scalable marketing operations processes that enable efficient campaign execution and data-driven decision-making.

What we’re looking for

  • Comfortable sourcing, briefing, and managing external vendors and freelancers

  • Strong project management instincts — you keep multiple moving pieces on track without needing much oversight

  • Comfortable working alongside technical and scientific teams — you don't need to be the primary writer of technical content, but you know how to shape and shepherd it

  • Scrappy and startup-paced: high ownership, low ego, comfortable wearing many hats and figuring things out as you go.

  • High ownership, low ego, and a bias toward action in ambiguous environments

  • Genuinely curious about biological AI, biosecurity, or the life sciences

  • • 2+ years in marketing, communications, or a related role, ideally at a startup or fast-moving company

What you need to know about the San Francisco Tech Scene

San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area attracts more startup funding than any other region in the world. Home to Stanford University and UC Berkeley, leading VC firms and several of the world’s most valuable companies, the Bay Area is the place to go for anyone looking to make it big in the tech industry. That said, San Francisco has a lot to offer beyond technology thanks to a thriving art and music scene, excellent food and a short drive to several of the country’s most beautiful recreational areas.

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins
  • Research Centers and Universities: Stanford University; University of California, Berkeley; University of San Francisco; Santa Clara University; Ames Research Center; Center for AI Safety; California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
