About Gideon Hausner Jewish Day School

Gideon Hausner Jewish Day School is an independent community school serving students in TK–8. Our mission is to cultivate a joyful learning community that builds students’ capacity for critical thinking, creativity, and moral courage through a complementary curriculum of general and Jewish studies.

Hausner enrolls approximately 370 students and offers a rigorous academic program supported by small class sizes, exceptional faculty, and a strong sense of community. We are committed to educating the whole child and to fostering an inclusive, diverse environment grounded in shared values.

About the Position

Every day at Hausner, there are stories worth sharing: a classroom discovery, a meaningful connection, or a moment of Jewish life. We’re looking for a creative, organized Marketing Associate who enjoys meeting people, asking questions, and turning those experiences into engaging content.

This is a hands-on role for a strong writer, creator, and communicator who takes initiative and enjoys being part of a school community. You’ll share the Hausner experience through blog stories, social media, website content, and email campaigns, working closely with the Director of Marketing to balance priorities within a part-time schedule.

Requirements

Storytelling and Social Media

  • Capture campus life through photos and videos; create and publish social posts, reels, and other content.
  • Find stories, coordinate and conduct interviews, and manage blog articles and community spotlights from idea through review and publication.
  • Maintain a content calendar, adapt stories across channels, and organize photos and videos for future use.
  • Track and report on social media performance, follow trends, and suggest improvements.
  • Monitor comments and messages, coordinating with the Director of Marketing on follow-up.

Website, Email Campaigns, and Creative Support

  • Create and maintain website content, including campaign and landing pages, keeping information current and easy to navigate.
  • Help execute digital campaigns through website content, Mailchimp emails, and automated sequences.
  • Create graphics in Canva or a similar tool, keeping content accurate, polished, and consistent with Hausner’s brand.
  • Collaborate with Admissions, Advancement, and other school colleagues on content and campaigns.

Spirit Store and Marketing Operations

  • Maintain inventory, track sales, coordinate replenishment, and periodically staff sales tables or train parent volunteers.
  • Support marketing logistics, including ordering materials, taking notes, and following up on project details.
Qualifications
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills, with curiosity about people and their stories.
  • Experience creating social media content, including reels and short videos.
  • Proficiency in Canva or a similar design tool and experience editing video.
  • Technical confidence and readiness to learn website tools, Mailchimp, and other digital platforms.
  • Initiative, strong organization, attention to detail, and reliable follow-through.
  • Comfort building relationships with children and adults, with sound judgment around student privacy and photo permissions.
  • Enthusiasm for Jewish education and Hausner’s mission, and availability to work regularly on campus in Palo Alto.

Especially welcome: Hausner or other Jewish day school alumni; experience with blog writing, photography, email automation, or website content management; and interest in website analytics.
