Founded in 1876, the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) is the oldest conservation and recreation organization in the United States. Our mission is simple yet powerful: foster the protection, enjoyment, and understanding of the outdoors. 

The Marketing Coordinator plays an important role in supporting AMC's annual giving, membership, and direct mail and print marketing programs. Reporting to the Direct Mail and Print Marketing Manager, sitting on the Growth Marketing team, this position helps execute fundraising and membership initiatives through reporting, data and segmentation, project coordination, and print production support. 

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who has strong attention to detail, enjoys working with data, improving operational processes, and collaborating across teams to drive revenue growth. 

 

What You'll Be Doing At AMC

  • Build, test, schedule, and deploy emails including newsletters, automations, promotional and transactional sends using Salesforce Marketing Cloud. 

  • Execute lead generation initiatives and email list growth opportunities. 

  • Create and maintain email templates that align with AMC brand standards. 

  • Monitor deliverability, engagement, and primary email KPIs including open rates, click through rates, conversions, and revenue. 

  • Build and manage audiences to support marketing initiatives. 

  • Identify and execute A/B testing opportunities related to subject lines, audience targeting, messaging, timing, creative, and user engagement. 

  • Manage project workflows using AirTable, and other project management tools to ensure campaign deliverables remain on schedule. 

  • Partner with stakeholders across AMC to ensure email content, targeting, landing pages, and user experiences are launch-ready. 

  • Participate in AMC events and activities to better understand and engage with AMC's community. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

What AMC Is Looking For

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

  • 1-3 years of experience in email marketing, digital marketing, marketing operations, communications, nonprofit marketing, or a related field. 

  • Experience building and deploying email campaigns. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Strong organizational and project management skills. 

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. 


Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or another email marketing platform. 

  • Familiarity with audience segmentation, campaign analytics, marketing automation, and A/B testing. 

  • Experience using Airtable, Jira, or similar project management tools. 

  • Passion for the outdoors and enthusiasm for AMC's conservation, recreation, and community-building mission. 

 

What AMC Can Offer You

 

Salary: $44,300 - $52,428


We are committed to fair compensation practices, and we encourage qualified candidates to apply. The initial salary represents our starting point, and our compensation philosophy is designed to reward and recognize the contributions of our employees as they grow within the organization. External candidates typically begin their journey with us at the starting point of the salary range. The final compensation offer will be based on factors such as experience, education, skills and geographic differential relevant to the position, and will be discussed during the interview process.
