The Marketing Director will develop and execute the marketing strategy, enhance brand identity, lead demand generation, and manage a marketing team for a technology company focused on data storage using synthetic DNA.
Atlas Data Storage is an information technology company building data storage products leveraging the unique properties of synthetic DNA. We’re seeking an experienced Marketing Director to build and scale our marketing function from the ground up. This is a highly strategic and hands-on role responsible for establishing the company’s brand, driving market awareness, enabling commercial success, and shaping how the world understands DNA as a data storage platform.
This role will report to the Senior Vice President, Business Development and work closely with R&D to drive go-to-market strategies that position the company as the leader in this emerging field.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy that supports company goals and commercial growth.
- Build and strengthen the company’s brand identity across digital, content, events, and PR channels.
- Create high-quality technical and commercial content.
- Partner with team to develop messaging, value propositions, and go-to-market plans for new features and product launches.
- Lead demand generation programs to build awareness.
- Manage web presence, digital marketing campaigns, and analytics to drive engagement and visibility.
- Oversee external agency relationships (PR, design, web, content) as needed.
- Establish KPIs and reporting dashboards to measure marketing performance and refine strategy.
- Build and lead a small but high-impact marketing team as the company continues to scale.
Qualifications
- 9+ years of experience in marketing, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in technology infrastructure domain, with deep understanding of technology commercialization, and emerging markets at the intersection of biotech and data infrastructural computing, or advanced materials industries.
- Strong storytelling and written communication skills, including the ability to translate complex scientific concepts into compelling narratives.
- Demonstrated success developing marketing strategies and executing across multiple channels.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving startup environment with both strategic and hands-on responsibilities.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence senior stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience launching new technologies or category-creating products.
- Established relationships with external agencies.
