The company

At Invert, we are on a mission to dramatically reduce the dollar and time cost of using biology to manufacture ~everything. Our customers use bioprocessing to do things like: produce new therapies to combat disease, create new biomaterials to solve the environmental crisis, and manufacture essential chemicals cleanly. We provide them with tools to automate the design, execution, and analysis of all that amazing work!

The Invert team is composed of creative and talented engineers, data scientists, biologists, and more, and we are supported by amazing investors. We value diversity and welcome individuals from all backgrounds to join our remote-first, collaborative environment.

The role

Our growth team is seeking a versatile Marketing Generalist to accelerate our growth experimentation and support our current marketing efforts.

Invert’s growth and marketing efforts span several channels, but we’re not particularly picky about which channels you have the most experience with.

However, it is important for our Marketing Generalist to be dynamic, high energy, and results-driven. We spin up (and retire) new growth experiments quickly, and need someone with an experimental lens, high degree of ownership, and action bias.

You will play an integral role in our team by optimizing our existing marketing efforts and discovering new growth opportunities.

What You’ll Do:

  • Experimentation & Strategy:

    • Drive a highly experimental approach across various growth and marketing strategies.

    • Test new channels, validate opportunities, and adjust quickly to what works best.

  • Sales Enablement:

    • Develop and refine sales support materials that empower our team to close more deals.

  • SEO/SEM & Digital Marketing:

    • Implement, optimize, and report on SEO and SEM efforts to improve top-of-funnel metrics like website traffic and brand awareness.

  • Event Coordination & Project Management:

    • Plan, coordinate, and execute in-person and virtual events.

    • Manage multiple growth experiments simultaneously while keeping projects on track and reducing context switching.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Experience:

    • 2-3 years in marketing; experience in sales is a plus.

    • Prior startup experience and familiarity with SaaS and life sciences domains are highly valued.

  • Skills & Attributes:

    • A strong action bias and “get your hands dirty” mindset.

    • Experimental mindset and passion for testing new strategies.

    • Comfort with ambiguity and changing priorities.

    • Strong project management and organizational skills.

    • High degree of curiosity and vigor for learning new things.

Why It’s Exciting:

  • Autonomy & Impact: Enjoy a role with plenty of independence and the opportunity to shape our marketing operations.

  • Learning & Growth: Work as part of an experienced team and build expertise in various marketing channels.

  • Dynamic Environment: Thrive in a fun, collaborative startup setting that values innovation and creativity.

  • Career Advancement: With proven results, you’ll have plenty of opportunities for professional growth and long-term career development within our company.

If you’re ready to drive impactful marketing experiments and help build a scalable marketing engine, we’d love to hear from you!

The package

  • High-growth startup with impactful work

  • Fully remote, distributed across US and European timezones

  • Competitive salary, equity, and benefits

  • New laptop, monitor, and accessories of your choice

  • Frequent team offsites

  • Unlimited PTO

The interview process

The interview process consists of the four stages described below. Candidates are assessed between each of these stages. The hiring manager communicates decisions and next steps throughout the process. We aim to complete all stages within two weeks.

  1. Discovery: A 30-minute conversation with our Head of Talent to chat about the role.

  2. Hiring Manager: A 30-minute chat with our Head of Growth to talk about your experience, skills, and goals.

  3. Team: Two 30-minute conversations with members of our sales and operations teams.

  4. References and Founder Chat: Three 15-minute conversations between the hiring manager and previous colleagues to gather external input. Simultaneously, a 30-minute meet-and-greet with one or both of the founders (depending on whether they have already participated in previous interviews).
