Support the Head of Marketing across social, content, community, events, email, partnerships, and SEO. Create and execute channel-specific materials, engage communities, attend events, and build AI tools/automations to scale marketing work. Identify and fix growth opportunities, iterate quickly, and use agentic AI tooling in daily workflows.
The summary above was generated by AI

Emergent builds autonomous coding agents that replace traditional software development by generating, testing, and deploying production applications directly from plain-language intent. Our systems run in production at global scale and are used to build millions of real applications.
Since our public launch, we've crossed $100M in ARR and grown to over 10M users across 190+ countries. We're backed by Khosla Ventures, SoftBank, Google, Lightspeed, Prosus, Together, and Y Combinator.

We're solving the hard part of AI-driven software creation: correctness, reliability, security, and scale in real production systems. The team is built by repeat founders, Olympiad medalists, and leaders from Google, Amazon, and Dropbox.

We're hiring builders who want ownership, speed, and impact at global scale.

The Role

The marketing org that helped get us here is in Bangalore and ships at engineering-org velocity. We're building the SF team to match. That's the seat you'd be joining: one of the first marketing hires in San Francisco at a company already at scale, working alongside a global team that doesn't slow down. You'll do the work and you'll build the AI tools that scale the work, both at the same time.

The norm at most companies is to hire interns to free up the full-time team. The norm here is to hire interns who could be on the full-time team. We're betting that the best marketers in the AI era look more like engineers than copywriters. You'll be one of the early tests of that bet.

What You'll Do:

  • Work directly with the Head of Marketing on every channel that matters: social, content, community, events, email, partnerships, and SEO.
  • Write the LinkedIn post, edit the Reels, pitch the creator, show up at the event, reply on Reddit at 11pm, then build the AI app that does it all faster next time.
  • Pick problems no one assigned you and fix things no one noticed were broken.
  • Be wrong often, and move on fast.
  • Use Emergent, Claude Code, Codex, agentic tools, and whatever ships fastest. We expect you to be obsessive about AI tooling before you walk in the door.

Who You Are:

  • You've shipped something: a side project, a Substack, a YouTube channel, an AI tool, a Discord, a brand for someone you don't work for. You don't wait for permission to build.
  • You're online too much. You know which trends are about to break before they do, and you can write a hook that makes people stop scrolling.
  • Your pace makes other people nervous.
  • You'd rather build a system that does the work than do the work.
  • You have taste. You think "that's boring" is a hard critique.
  • AI tools are already how you work. If agentic AI isn't in your daily routine, this isn't the right fit.

Why Join Us:

  • Be one of the first marketing hires in San Francisco at one of the fastest-growing AI companies in the world.
  • Work directly with the Head of Marketing and a global team that ships at engineering-org velocity.
  • Real ownership, meaningful equity, and a clear path to growth.
  • Fast learning and direct impact on products used by millions.

Benefits and Perks:

  • 401(k)
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Unlimited Paid Time Off: take the time you need to recharge and come back refreshed
  • Flexible Working Hours: work arrangements that fit your life and commitments

Let's build the future of software together.

What you need to know about the San Francisco Tech Scene

San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area attracts more startup funding than any other region in the world. Home to Stanford University and UC Berkeley, leading VC firms and several of the world’s most valuable companies, the Bay Area is the place to go for anyone looking to make it big in the tech industry. That said, San Francisco has a lot to offer beyond technology thanks to a thriving art and music scene, excellent food and a short drive to several of the country’s most beautiful recreational areas.

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins
  • Research Centers and Universities: Stanford University; University of California, Berkeley; University of San Francisco; Santa Clara University; Ames Research Center; Center for AI Safety; California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
