Design and build complex precision electromechanical and robotic subsystems (thin film deposition, fluid dispense, pick-and-place). Own subsystems through product lifecycle, balance software/electrical/controls/dynamics, and perform hands-on machining/CAM work. Work autonomously and collaborate across disciplines to launch and iterate production systems.
HMBL is your premiere Talent Partner and Executive Search Solution. We were founded on the fact that technical recruiting is most fruitful via partnership --than it is transactional.
We partner the most innovative, cutting-edge tech companies. HMBL stances its foundational values around transparency, overcommunication, and the desire to improve. We leverage best industry practices, historical and predictive data and AI to acquire the industry's top 5% of technical talent.
Are you passionate about making the impossible possible? Are you interested in working with the best and brightest in the tech industry? Do you want to work on the front-lines of innovation?
We have what you're looking for!
Stay hungry. Stay HMBL.
We are seeking a seasoned Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team. This individual will be an expert in designing and building complex dynamic mechanical precision systems. They will contribute to the overall design of our novel robotic manufacturing platform, as well as own significant subsystems from the beginning of the product life cycle such as thin film deposition, fluid dispense, pick and place, and more.
About the Role
- Design and build a node of AMP or other complex electro-mechanical systems/subsystems.
- Build complex robotic systems that move.
- Balance software, electrical, controls, and dynamics
- Be autonomous. Our senior MEs need to be highly skilled and experienced in order to progress quickly without help from others. This also incorporates the idea of a growth mindset - when they encounter a challenge, they just learn what they need to learn, figure it out and keep moving forward.
- Be a maker. We expect all of our MEs to have a robust maker mentality and to have at least an understanding of what is involved in CNC machining, though ideally, they are an advanced maker with very strong CAM and machining skills.
Requirements
- BS/MS/PhD in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic, or a similar engineering discipline.
- 2+ years of mechanical engineering industry experience.
- Deep experience designing and building complex precision machines from conception to production launch and, ideally, beyond (iterations, bug fixing, etc.)
- Experience working as part of a team to produce a complex software-controlled electromechanical system that included their contributions.
- Deep understanding of engineering first principles and how to apply them.
