All Weather Architectural Aluminum is a family-owned custom window and door manufacturer located in Vacaville, CA, that has been in business since 1969, and we have an immediate opening for a Mechanical Engineer. The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for managing the portfolio of products manufactured by All Weather. This will include the development and implementation of new products as well as enhancing, improving and phase-out of existing products. The role will engage with internal stakeholders from all departments of our organization; this includes presenting to the leadership and executive teams, as well as collaborating with external partners and suppliers to deliver value-add solutions. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Ensure that all contributors, stakeholders, leadership and executive team members, and external partners have the information that they need in a timely manner.
  • Deliver product implementation plans and engineering change notice system.
  • Prototyping through 3d printing and CNC programming
  • Develop testing processes and perform testing and validation of new designs.
  • Develop and manage all product deliverables in ERP and through the production floor.
  • Provide support and guidance to individual contributors involved in the portfolio of projects and products.
  • Manage and update project schedules accordingly.

ESSENTIAL ABILITIES

  • Ability to build All Weather products.
  • Product management and change management experience.
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • String product design acumen
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple active projects throughout multiple departments.
  • Ability to solve problems using deductive and inductive reasoning and see task through to completion.
  • Ability to sense and forecast potential challenges and problems.
  • Ability to read and create technical fabrication and assembly drawings.
  • Previous experience in the fenestration industry is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to routinely maneuver a minimum of 25 lbs. and load/unload product without assistance. 
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and maneuver 50 lbs.
  • Requires bending, squatting, climbing, and reaching, and be able to occasionally lift from a truck or car without assistance.
     

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates primarily in an office environment; will occasionally visit the manufacturing floor and the R&D building Minimal travel may be required. Fast-paced environment that may require working irregular and long hours.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience: 

  • 5+ years of engineering experience; preferably in product design.
  • Knowledge of Stage-Gate product development process
  • CNC Programming is a plus

Software:

  • Microsoft 365 Suite
  • AutoCAD experience
  • SolidWorks modeling experience, SolidWorks EPDM experience desired
