Company Description

Our client is a media and marketing agency currently transitioning the media business for a national, multi-location home services brand with more than 40 local markets and an established, sizable media investment.

  • Duration: ~2 month project

  • Location: Remote

  • Hours/wk: 25-30 hours/week

  • Hourly Rate: $80-90/hr

Job Description

We need a senior, hands-on media strategist to audit the inherited plan and recommend the right local, regional, and national architecture, centered on video and measurable business outcomes. This person will embed as part of the client team, personally conduct the analysis, lead client conversations, and turn the findings into an executable transition plan without disrupting current sales.

Responsibilities

  • Audit the existing plan by market and channel, identifying where investment, lead volume, appointments, cost of acquisition, and sales are misaligned.

  • Design the appropriate local, regional, and national structure across linear TV, CTV/OTT and video, paid search, and Meta, including where pooled buying improves or obscures local performance.

  • Evaluate market-level video pressure through GRPs, reach and frequency, flighting, inventory quality, premium and direct-response placements, and targeted heavy-ups.

  • Reconcile quarterly MMM; weekly branch-and-channel outcomes; daily lead and call-center signals; last-click reporting; Google Analytics; Meta; and Switch Growth conversion data.

  • Build a staged test-and-transition roadmap that protects lead flow and sales, clearly separating immediate changes from longer-term optimization.

  • Lead decision-oriented discussions for analytical marketing leaders and founder/franchise operators, while working constructively with incumbent and activation partners.

Qualifications

Platforms + Measurement Products

Preferred: Google Analytics; Google Ads/paid search; Meta; Switch Growth or similar conversion feedback; MMM; and TV attribution. Candidates should connect these signals to leads, appointments, acquisition cost, and sales by market.

Qualifications

  • Deep local broadcast and video planning experience, paired with strong working knowledge of paid search and paid social.

  • Experience with multi-location, franchise, dealer, or branch-based businesses where media must deliver market-level outcomes.

  • Experience with high-consideration, appointment-driven or offline sales journeys; home improvement or home services is valuable but not required.

  • A track record of inheriting a live plan, testing changes in stages, and improving the strategy without putting near-term revenue at risk.

  • Comfort personally conducting the analysis, building the recommendation, and guiding both analytically sophisticated marketers and commercially focused operators.

Key Characteristics

  • Pedigree: Senior local broadcast and video media strategy background, ideally agency side, with experience inheriting and improving live media plans for multi-location businesses.

  • Passion: Energized by digging into a live, complex plan and turning ambiguity into a clear, defensible strategy.

  • Potential: Can operate independently as a true embedded strategist, credible with both analytically sophisticated marketers and commercially focused franchise or branch operators.

  • Play: Low-ego and hands-on, comfortable presenting hard truths about an inherited plan while working constructively with incumbent partners.

Successful Delivery of the Scope

A decision-ready market and channel diagnostic, recommended media architecture, and prioritized test-and-transition roadmap that improves local accountability, preserves lead and sales continuity, and gives activation teams a clear path forward.
