Own Torus’s top-of-funnel growth by building target lists, conducting outbound outreach, organizing events, testing advertising channels, and booking qualified meetings for the CEO. The role manages attribution to identify effective channels and eliminate underperforming efforts. It is an execution-focused GTM position measured by meaningful meetings with Fortune 500 and EPC prospects, requiring creativity, resourcefulness, AI fluency, and willingness to travel approximately 10% for conferences, partner visits, and events.

About the role

Gradient is everything.

Torus is building the agentic engineering tool that physical engineering firms use to build infrastructure 10x faster. We turn design engineering work that took 6 weeks into 6 hours, and we're already working with multiple Fortune 500s and major EPCs on critical infrastructure like data centers and energy installations.

Everyone here uses AI to move fast and do more, and you're no exception. You don't write the engineering code, but you use AI relentlessly across all of GTM: research, outreach, content, list-building, ops. You're the person who makes sure the world finds out about Torus, and that our CEO's calendar is packed with the right people. This is a pure GTM role: own top of funnel and turn it into meetings that matter.

Who we are

Torus was founded in May 2026 by Marcus Lima (CEO) and Rahul Thayil (CTO). Marcus previously founded Heimdal (direct air carbon capture technology and infrastructure); Oxford and Cambridge grad. Rahul previously founded Orion (AI threat intelligence and response automation). We're a team of 6 in San Francisco. We started Torus because AI can finally do the structured, geometry-heavy work at the core of reindustrialization, and the industry is burning for it.

What you'll do

Your single goal: fill the CEO's calendar with qualified meetings with the right people at Fortune 500s and EPCs. How you get there is up to you, and you'll try everything:

  • Events and conferences: make them, find them, get us there, book meetings around them
  • Outbound and sales support: build target lists, run sequences, tee up the CEO
  • Ads, billboards, and whatever else moves top of funnel, tested against real results
  • Own attribution so we know which channels actually produce meetings, and kill what doesn't

We move fast. In your first week you're already booking meetings. By your first month you own our top-of-funnel motion and the CEO's calendar is measurably fuller with real ICP conversations.

This is not an admin, EA, or ops role. Zero busywork. You are a doer who generates pipeline. You'll be measured on one thing: qualified meetings booked for our CEO.

You'll fit if you

  • Have high energy and a bias to DO. You make things happen without being told how
  • Use AI daily to move faster. You reach for tools like Claude and ChatGPT to research accounts, draft outreach, build lists, and automate the boring parts, and you're always finding new ways to do more with less
  • Have generated real results on your own, whether that's running events, building an audience, or booking meetings that closed
  • Are resourceful and creative about reaching hard-to-reach people
  • Care about outcomes, not vanity metrics. Meetings with the right buyers, not impressions
  • Learn fast and want to work at startup pace. Gradient is everything
  • Willing to travel around 10% of the time to conferences, partner sites, and events to make things happen in person

Compensation

$100,000-$150,000 annual base salary, plus 0.05%-0.10% equity. The range reflects the base salary Torus reasonably expects to pay at the time of posting. The final offer will depend on job-related factors such as relevant experience, demonstrated results, scope, and location. Equity is subject to the applicable plan and approvals.

Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance; unlimited paid time off; and company-paid holidays. Benefits are subject to eligibility requirements and the terms of the applicable plans and policies.

About the interview

Candidates will have an initial screening followed by interviews with both founders. The process may also include a job-related exercise or discussion designed to evaluate research, written communication, prioritization, and GTM judgment.

San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area attracts more startup funding than any other region in the world. Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins
  • Research Centers and Universities: Stanford University; University of California, Berkeley; University of San Francisco; Santa Clara University; Ames Research Center; Center for AI Safety; California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
