Role Description

As the Metro Engineering Lead, you will own the end-to-end commissioning, integration, and lifecycle launch of all new network infrastructure, hardware platforms, and routing/switching Add Building Management Systems across the region. You will bridge the gap between high-level architecture designs and physical deployment, leading a team of deployment and systems engineers to scale our regional network footprint safely, reliably, and efficiently.

This role requires a blend of deep technical expertise in large-scale networking, robust project governance, and people leadership.

In this role, you’ll:

  • End-to-End Ownership: Direct the staging, configuration, provisioning, and production integration of all new metro network assets (e.g., core routers, edge switches, optical transport equipment, and out-of-band management systems).
  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and scale a regional team of Network Deployment Engineers, providing technical guidance and career development.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Act as the primary regional point of contact for Network Architecture, Capacity Planning, Logistics/Supply Chain, and Data Center Operations to align deployment schedules with business growth.
  • Vendor Management: Partner with hardware vendors and third-party integrators to resolve hardware/firmware bugs discovered during staging and commissioning phases.
  • Fiscal Stewardship & Strategic Budgeting: Directing regional CAPEX and OPEX allocations with strict oversight, ensuring high-yield infrastructure investments, negotiating cost-efficient vendor contracts, and enforcing rigorous financial accountability across regional deployment teams to maximize network profitability and resource efficiency.

At a minimum, we would like you to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years in network engineering, infrastructure deployment, or data center engineering.
  • Experience staging and commissioning enterprise or service provider-grade routing and switching platforms (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Arista, or Nokia).
  • Experience with core networking concepts, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, EVPN-VXLAN, and physical layer technologies (fiber optics, DWDM, transceivers).

It’s preferred if you have:

  • Experience working in hyper-scale cloud environments, tier-1 internet service providers (ISPs), or major telecommunications metro networks.
  • At least 2 years in a technical lead or people management role.

The US base salary for this full-time position is $117,000 - $147,000 + bonus + benefits. As pay varies by location, your recruiter will share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
