The Mgr, Strategic Operations, Money Canvas plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing the operational strategy for Money Canvas, a digitally enabled, human-delivered financial coaching program. This hybrid role blends the vision-setting and roadmap ownership of product management with the executional rigor and systems thinking of business operations—while also leading a high-performing team.
You’ll be responsible for both running the business and optimizing it for future scalability, driving initiatives to improve core service delivery metrics, such as appointment availability, experience quality, and program efficiency.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the long-term Operations roadmap as a part of the broader program strategy to drive business goals and customer outcomes.
Leads team collaboration to manage and prioritize roadmap and releases across multiple products or initiatives.
Identifies and tracks performance metrics both (a) evergreen key performance indicators to monitor the overall health of the product and (b) objectives to focus efforts on making specific, measurable improvements to experiences that drive positive outcomes.
Proactively diagnoses operational inefficiencies and pain points using a data-driven approach; leads initiatives to improve priority outcomes and key results.
Champions experimentation and iterative problem-solving, leading others to generate actionable insights, define and test interventions, measure results, and scale successful solutions.
Drives sustained adoption of new processes, tools, and digital product enhancements, quarterbacking cross-functional go-to-market process (communication, training, and feedback loops) to ensure successful operational rollout.
Drives scalability through process optimization and systems thinking; leads others to uncover trends, identify bottlenecks, and establish new, scalable standards.
Ensures outcomes on the roadmap fit within capacity constraints and are prioritized and sequenced in order to maximize value to the business and customer.
Oversees core business operations, including capacity planning and issue resolution.
Recruits, develops, and sustains a high-performing team while promoting a culture of shared accountability, operational excellence, and partnership across the organization.
Coaches and mentors team members by establishing clear expectations, providing performance feedback, and removing obstacles, with the goal of delivering on operational efficiencies, established service levels for clients / participants, and financial clarity societal impact outcomes.

Communicates strategy, defines ways of working, and manages workflow for Business Operations Domain.
Collaborates with Coaching Operations Manager as delivery channel owner to run the business, drive improvements and implement initiatives.
Collaborates with Managers of Product and Product Owners on process improvements related to Growth and Coaching Experience Products.
Reports out on business results, strategy, and plans to Director and VP levels.
Interacts with other Thrivent Teams to align strategy and large-scale initiatives.
Collaborates with Product Managers and Coaching Operations Manager to prioritize all product roadmaps aligned with Money Canvas OKRs.
Develops a strategic vision for OKRs along with plans to achieve them; communicates/defends that vision to Director and cross-functionally to Managers of Product, Product Owners, Engineering Managers, and other Thrivent stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
8+ years of experience in a related field, with at least 5 years of experience in operations management, strategy, analytics, product operations, or consulting and with at least 3 years of managerial experience
Proven experience leading a high-performing team
Proven experience defining and delivering against target metrics
Proven ability to define strategic direction and translate strategy into executable initiatives
Data-driven decision maker with strong personal and professional judgment
Excellent organization and prioritization skills, with the adaptability to shift and ruthlessly prioritize workstreams
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Eagerness to collaborate with others
Experience working directly with product and engineering teams in a Product Operating Model
Experience owning product or strategic roadmaps
Preferred:
Experience in a strategy and analytics role in an Operations-heavy industry utilizing human delivery channels
Experience in executional leadership roles in an Operations-heavy industry utilizing human delivery channels
Experience translating insights and strategies into actionable processes with responsibility for execution
Background in process design or operational excellence methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
Fluent in SQL
