Job Summary:

As a Consultant within our Digital Workplace practice, you will deliver Microsoft Modern Work solutions for mergers and acquisitions (M&A), tenant consolidations, and divestitures. This hands-on role covers assessment through post-migration support across identity, Microsoft 365, and Intune-managed endpoints, with a focus on secure access, business continuity, and a smooth user experience.

Essential Functions:

  • Assess Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and endpoint environments to document business requirements, migration scope, dependencies, and readiness gaps.
  • Work with solution architects and technical leads to translate client requirements into Modern Work recommendations and tenant-to-tenant migration, consolidation, and divestiture plans, addressing workload sequencing, identity alignment, coexistence, cross-workload dependencies, and user impact.
  • Configure Microsoft 365 services and execute migrations across Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams using approved migration tools and documented procedures.
  • Support identity transitions, including directory synchronization, domain and UPN changes, and access policies, in coordination with security and endpoint specialists.
  • Implement Microsoft Intune endpoint solutions, including Windows Autopilot provisioning, device join and enrollment, configuration and compliance policies, application deployment, endpoint security, and Windows updates; support cross-tenant device transitions during M&A migrations.
  • Execute pilots, migration waves, and cutover activities; validate data, permissions, mail flow, and user access; troubleshoot issues and support rollback readiness and post-migration stabilization.
  • Maintain migration runbooks, configuration records, and support handoff documentation; communicate status, risks, and dependencies; and assist project managers with milestones, user communications, and delivery coordination.

Required Skills/Abilities/Competencies:

  • Sound judgment, critical thinking, and responsible handling of client data and privileged access.
  • Strong client-facing communication and customer service skills; ability to explain technical issues and user impacts, work independently, and collaborate with architects, project managers, security teams, and client stakeholders.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail in migration inventories, identity mappings, permissions, and validation; ability to manage competing priorities and meet project deadlines and cutover windows.
  • Understanding of M&A migration dependencies, including tenant coexistence, identity and domain transitions, workload sequencing, and business continuity.
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, hybrid identity, multifactor authentication, and Conditional Access.
  • Hands-on experience delivering the Intune and Windows Autopilot solutions described above, including application packaging and troubleshooting enrollment and policy deployment issues.
  • Hands-on proficiency administering Microsoft 365 workloads, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams, with deeper expertise in one or more areas.
  • Required hands-on proficiency with Quest and AvePoint as the primary migration tools, plus PowerShell for Microsoft 365 administration, reporting, and migration automation. Familiarity with Microsoft Graph; preferred familiarity with ForensIT, BitTitan, ShareGate, and PowerSync Pro as secondary tool options used as project and client needs dictate.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across identity, mail flow, permissions, collaboration access, and endpoint sign-in, with the ability to document findings and escalate risks promptly.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in Microsoft 365 consulting, Modern Work implementation, or enterprise migration delivery, including hands-on participation in tenant-to-tenant or M&A migration projects.
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications aligned to Microsoft 365 administration, identity, endpoint management, or collaboration.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
