As an intern in the structural analysis group at Millennium Space Systems, you will support engineers in evaluating the strength and durability of space hardware. You'll assist with building and refining finite element models, interpreting simulation results, and validating findings through testing and data comparison. Working closely with design and manufacturing teams, you'll help identify potential structural risks early and contribute to design improvements that enhance performance.

- Support structural analysis of space hardware in the form of hand calcs, finite element analysis, and testing
- Generate or modify existing finite element models of space hardware
- Post-process loads and stress results to determine structural margins
- Collaborate with mechanical design, manufacturing, and others in support of space hardware development

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):
- Ability to work full-time for 10-12 weeks during Summer 2026
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
- Completed coursework in mechanics of materials, structural analysis, and finite element methods
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills
- Basic proficiency with finite element analysis tools (e.g., FEMAP, Abaqus, or SolidWorks Simulation).
- Foundational programming skills in languages such as MATLAB or Python for data analysis and automation.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Strong academic performance (preferred GPA of 3.0 or above)
- Exceptional organizational and collaboration skills as demonstrated through leadership positions on teams and/or in student or civic organizations
- Strong technical experiences as demonstrated through technical projects, research or engineering internships
- Exceptional communication skills and interest and enthusiasm related to engineering, aerospace and a career with Boeing
- Junior or Senior class standing
