This is a remote position.
Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-focused Millwright to join our team specializing in HRSG (Heat Recovery Steam Generator) and Boiler Outage Services within the construction and industrial maintenance sector. This role is critical to the successful execution of complex outage projects, ensuring the precision dismantling, inspection, repair, and reassembly of large-scale boiler and HRSG systems. The Millwright will play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity, efficiency, and reliability of power generation infrastructure during scheduled outages. Operating in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments, this position demands technical expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and project timelines. The ideal candidate will be experienced in heavy equipment handling, precision alignment, and working in challenging industrial settings, contributing directly to the long-term performance and safety of critical energy systems.
Responsibilities:
- Perform precision alignment and leveling of HRSG and boiler components during outage services using laser alignment tools, micrometers, and precision measuring instruments.
- Dismantle, inspect, repair, and reassemble heavy industrial components including drums, headers, tubes, supports, and associated piping systems.
- Conduct detailed visual and non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections in coordination with inspectors and engineers to identify wear, cracks, or misalignment.
- Operate and maintain heavy lifting equipment such as overhead cranes, hoists, chain falls, and rigging systems in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
- Interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and as-built schematics to guide installation and repair activities.
- Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other trades to ensure seamless coordination during outage execution.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, inspection findings, and equipment conditions using digital or paper-based reporting systems.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols, conduct pre-task safety briefings, and participate in safety audits and incident reporting.
- Support the implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance strategies during outage cycles.
- Respond promptly to emergency repair needs and adapt to dynamic work schedules during critical outage windows.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience as a Millwright in industrial or power generation environments, with demonstrated expertise in boiler and HRSG systems.
- Proven track record of performing precision alignment, mechanical assembly, and maintenance of large-scale thermal systems.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Strong understanding of welding principles and metallurgy as they relate to boiler and HRSG components.
- Ability to work in high-risk environments, including elevated platforms, confined spaces, and extreme temperatures.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift 50+ lbs, work extended hours, and adapt to rotating shifts during outage periods.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to safety and quality.
- Willingness to travel to project sites across the region as required.
