Intersect was acquired by Google in March 2026 and operates as an independent subsidiary. We are developing and constructing multiple gigawatts of energy and data center projects in the U.S., enabling more data center and generation capacity to come online faster. We’re on an aggressive growth trajectory and looking for people hungry to tackle the largest energy challenges on the planet.

Location & Team Gatherings

We are not work-from-home, hybrid, or in-office - we are any and all of those options! Deepening social connections and offering shared experiences is a cornerstone of the way we work. We connect as a team at our Team Week experiences four times a year and at our recently established Hub locations - SF Bay Area, NYC Metro Area, NY; Denver, CO; Austin, TX; Calgary, AB; and Toronto, ON.

We are currently looking for candidates located within 60 miles of any of the listed hubs to foster more in-person connections while maintaining our flexible remote culture.

About This Role

As part of Intersect’s Land Due Diligence team, you’ll help support the development and execution of energy infrastructure projects by delivering accurate mineral ownership analysis, title review, and land documentation support. This role plays a critical part in reducing project risk, improving operational readiness, and ensuring land records and ownership determinations are audit-ready and actionable.
You’ll collaborate closely with internal land, legal, acquisitions, and development teams, as well as external attorneys, operators, landowners, and title professionals. Success in this role requires strong analytical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to balance legal precision with fast-moving operational timelines.

Team Overview

This team plays a critical role in advancing Intersect’s mission to accelerate the clean energy transition by ensuring land, title, and ownership matters are accurately evaluated and resolved to support project development and long-term operational success. The Land Due Diligence team partners cross-functionally across development, legal, finance, and operations to identify and mitigate risk while enabling efficient project execution. Joining this team offers the opportunity to work on high-impact infrastructure projects in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where precision, accountability, and problem-solving are highly valued.

What You’ll Do

Deliver Accurate Ownership Analysis

  • Review and interpret mineral deeds, oil & gas leases, assignments, probate records, heirships, easements, surface use agreements, pooling documents, and curative instruments

  • Analyze chain of title and ownership interests to determine accurate mineral and leasehold ownership

  • Identify title defects, burdens, encumbrances, and curative requirements that could impact project development or operations

  • Maintain highly organized and audit-ready land and ownership records

Support Land Agreements & Documentation

  • Prepare and assist with accommodation agreements, surface waivers, surface use agreements, affidavits of heirship, and non-production/non-payment affidavits

  • Draft and verify legal descriptions and supporting ownership documentation

  • Coordinate agreement revisions and approvals with internal stakeholders and external legal counsel

  • Track execution status and maintain accurate agreement records throughout the lifecycle of each project

Reduce Operational Risk & Delays

  • Proactively identify title and ownership risks that may impact leasing, drilling, production, or infrastructure activities

  • Support curative efforts to resolve ownership and title issues efficiently

  • Improve agreement turnaround timelines through organized documentation and stakeholder coordination

Partner Across Teams & Stakeholders

  • Collaborate with Land Acquisitions, legal teams, operators, and landowners to support project execution

  • Communicate complex title and ownership matters clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Support negotiation efforts by providing accurate ownership analysis and document review

  • Balance operational urgency with legal and land administration accuracy

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Energy Management, Petroleum Land Management, Business, Legal Studies, Finance, Real Estate, or a related field preferred; equivalent land/title experience may substitute for formal education

  • 5–10+ years of experience in oil & gas land administration, mineral title analysis, division order analysis, land services, or upstream energy operations

  • Strong understanding of mineral and leasehold ownership concepts, chain of title analysis, curative processes, and royalty burden analysis

  • Working knowledge of surface rights, mineral rights, joint operating agreements (JOAs), and pooling/unitization concepts

  • Ability to independently analyze complex ownership structures and resolve title issues with minimal supervision

  • Experience working directly with attorneys, landowners, operators, and cross-functional project teams

  • Familiarity with GIS/mapping tools, Google Sheets, document management systems, and county clerk or record systems

  • Exceptional attention to detail and ownership calculation accuracy

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex ownership issues clearly
