Role

What this role is

This role is for an experienced mobile engineer who strives in creating beautiful and smooth mobile experiences. You will work closely with designers and define the UX for mobile vibe coding. You must have a vision on what an “excellent” mobile experience is and you will have the freedom to execute that vision.

How you will operate
  • Implement pixel-perfect designs

  • Define delightful gestures to improve the user experience

  • Make thoughtful tradeoffs between speed, correctness, and long-term maintainability

  • Talk with users and use the product yourself to understand real-world needs and opportunities

  • Take on tasks that stretch your abilities and work hard to close skill gaps quickly

  • Contribute to a culture of ownership, ambition, and fast-paced learning

There is no existing design paradigm for mobile vibe coding. We value courage, creativity, and a willingness to revise your solution as you iterate.

Primary outcomes

Your success will be measured by:

1. Independent problem-solving and execution
You take goals, investigate unknowns, evaluate options, and deliver solutions without waiting for extensive guidance.

2. Fast skill growth
You significantly expand your technical range within your first months through hands-on work and deliberate learning.

3. Shipped product impact
Your features improve user experience, performance, and product depth in measurable and well-reasoned ways

Required background

Candidates typically show:

  • A strong technical foundation from a top CS program or equivalent hands-on experience building React Native apps

  • Evidence of high quality taste in mobile experiences

  • High empathy for your teammates and users

  • Solid programming fundamentals with comfort in TypeScript and React Native

  • Experience working in fast-paced environments while balancing care with urgency

Nice to have
  • Previously been one of the first 10 hires at startup

  • Figma experience

  • Swift / Kotlin experience

  • Backgrounds or interests that span technical and non-technical domains (e.g. writing, design, philosophy, economics, etc)

Why this role matters

We are shaping the frontier of mobile vibe coding. Thousands of people are using our app on a daily basis and all of your contributions will shape their experience.

In all roles

We look for:

Intense. Ship fast. Cycles are hours, not weeks. Hard to outwork.

Ownership. Grab the #1 priority and relentless to deliver.

Fearlessness. Risk on. Do the unknown / uncomfortable. Say "good" to bad news.

Taste. Obsess over quality. Know what “great” looks like. No slop.

Play. Curiosity, joy, and energy.

Sound like you?

Come do the most meaningful work of your career.
