The Mortgage Loan Operations Specialist will manage loan processing from application to funding, ensuring accuracy and compliance while coordinating with various stakeholders.
First Entertainment Credit Union is looking for a Mortgage Loan Operations Specialist (Funding & Processing) who will be responsible for First and Second lien loan processing from application through funding, including data collection, review and analysis, and pre-funding audits.
The Mortgage Loan Operations Specialist must demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication abilities. A successful candidate must possess the professionalism and alignment with our core values, ensuring all stakeholders are informed throughout the loan lifecycle.
This is a full-time, hybrid opportunity reporting to the Director, Real Estate Lending Operations and is based in Hollywood, CA. The targeted pay in California is between $24.58 and $30.72.
Responsibilities
• Process first mortgage and equity loan applications, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Collect, review, and validate borrower documentation, including income, assets, purchase contracts, and escrow instructions.
• Order and analyze credit reports, appraisals, title reports, flood certifications, insurance documents, and compliance checks.
• Prepare and deliver initial disclosures and re-disclosures as required
• Balance Closing Disclosure (CD) and HUD settlement statements, resolving discrepancies with escrow/title companies.
• Communicate proactively with Loan Officers and escrow officers regarding outstanding conditions, loan status, and scheduling of signing appointments.
• Coordinate closing and funding activities, including confirming wire instructions, initiating funding requests, and performing pre-funding audits to ensure all documentation and approvals are complete.
• Maintain accurate records and timely updates in loan processing systems through closing and funding.
• Complete additional tasks, such as ordering homeowner’s/flood insurance, payoff demand statements, tax service, and employment verifications as required.
• Perform other duties and tasks as required.

Requirements
· A high school diploma, vocational training, job-related course work or related work experience required.
· Active registration status (or registration within the first month of employment) with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) and Registry on an annual basis in addition to maintaining updates is required.
· Knowledge of laws and regulations regarding real estate and privacy, including TRID, Reg Z, Reg B, HMDA and RESPA
· Knowledge of basic loan processing procedures and systems (Encompass Banker edition preferred)
· 3 to 5 years of prior experience of real estate loan processing is required.
· 3 to 5 years previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience in an office setting is required.
· Effective communication skills across all levels of audience.
· Computer proficiency in loan application systems, preferably ICE Mortgage, Opening Act (Meridian Link), MS Office Word, Excel and Outlook.
