The Bilingual Loan Processor manages loan files, communicates with customers, addresses conditions, and collaborates with Underwriting and Management while ensuring timely loan submissions.
Overview:
The Bilingual Loan Processor plays a critical role in ensuring the timely and accurate clearance of all Underwriting conditions. This position requires strong communication skills in both English and Spanish to effectively engage with borrowers and team members. The processor must be organized, a strong team player, and confident in managing and closing 25+ files per month.
Key Responsibilities:
- File Review: Receive and review files from the Processing Assistant prior to submission to Underwriting, ensuring all necessary documentation is in place (refer to Processing checklist).
- Customer Communication: Upon file exiting Underwriting, conduct a Welcome call/email with borrower within 24 hours to review conditions, providing clear communication in either English or Spanish as needed.
- Condition Management: Immediately address actionable conditions, designating tasks to the Processing Assistant as appropriate and ensuring timely follow-up.
- Redisclosures: Monitor daily alerts and manage redisclosures as required.
- Pipeline Management: Prepare for and attend weekly pipeline calls with loan Officers, discussing file progress, issue conditions or appraisal delays.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Underwriting and Management to resolve any issues, ensuring a smooth processing experience.
- Appraisal and Title Management: Order appraisal revisions or final inspections as necessary; interact with insurance and title companies to resolve any issues.
- Quality Control: Address QC conditions promptly.
- Funding Coordination: Collaborate with Funding to ensure the timely delivery of the signed Closing Disclosure (CD) and address any changes in cash to close.
Service Level Agreements (SLAs):
- Submit loans to Underwriting within 24 hours of receipt from Processing Assistant.
- Conduct Welcome call/email and send initial needs list to customer within 24-48 hours of receiving Conditional Approval.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in FHA, VA, USDA, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac guidelines.
- Ability to run DU, LP and GUS.
- Minimum 1 year of experience with Encompass LOS.
- Strong understanding of TRID guidelines.
- At least 3 years of experience in the mortgage industry.
- Bilingual communication skills, with proficiency in both English and Spanish.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Confidence to process and close 25+ files per month.
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration and organizational skills.
- Positive attitude and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to meet deadlines with sound judgement and prudent decision-making.
- High level of integrity and strong work ethic.
- Leadership experience is preferred by not required.
Work Hours: Availability required between 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM EST
