Telecommunications Network Administrator

Onsite in Foster City, CA | at least 3 days in office

Join the team as a critical link responsible for managing the lifecycle of our telecommunications services. The Telecommunications Network Administrator is essential in ensuring we deliver robust, accurate, and timely network connectivity across the organization as we expand into new cities. This role acts as a primary liaison, bridging the gap between IT, Facilities, Procurement and various external telecommunications providers. You will be instrumental in deploying connectivity to new locations while assisting the Network Engineering team on various projects and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Connectivity Management & Procurement:

Drive the end-to-end process for all data service orders (MACD—Move, Add, Change, Disconnect), including Broadband/DIA, Fiber, EPL, and WISP services.

Identify new circuit needs and manage the full ordering process with Local Exchange Carriers (LECs) and long-distance providers.

Vendor & Carrier Management:

Serve as the main point of contact for telecom carriers (e.g., AT&T, Verizon, Lumen). You will be responsible for submitting complete order packages, scheduling installations, driving Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and aggressively resolving service issues to meet deadlines.

Technical Provisioning and Integration:

Oversee the technical activation and turn-up of new circuits and associated equipment, ensuring strict adherence to project requirements and technical standards.

Configure and maintain network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls, to seamlessly interface with external telecom circuits.

Operational Support and Troubleshooting:

Diagnose and resolve circuit-level issues, particularly during the testing and activation phases.

Collaborate with the Network Engineering team on both major project rollouts and daily operational support initiatives.

Inventory & Documentation:

Maintain a comprehensive and accurate inventory of all active circuits, documenting critical details such as IDs, physical locations, associated costs, and contract expiration dates. This attention to detail is essential for accuracy and lifecycle management.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

Proven ability to manage vendor and carrier relationships to effectively drive and meet aggressive project deadlines.

Exceptional attention to detail is essential for tracking complex circuit IDs, maintaining billing accuracy, and ensuring timely circuit delivery.

Deep functional knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VLANs, and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF).

Knowledge of diverse telecom standards and circuit types (Fiber, EPL’s, Wave, DF, Broadband, DIA, etc.).

Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in IT or Computer Science.

Industry certifications such as CCNA or Network+ are highly desirable.

3+ years of experience in a similar role.
