Position Title: Systems Integration Network Engineer
To represent Ribbon as an Network Engineer responsible for the development of Network specifications and design documents used to support the implementation and integration of assigned projects as per Ribbon’s commitment to meet or surpass Customer expectations. This role fulfils services sold and include Engineering, Configuration, Integration, Test, Migration, and Solution validation.
The network design service can be defined as High-level network design planning and detailed network element engineering. Defines the logical-layer design (including IP) of the solution and provides configuration specifics at the component level
The primary responsibilities are as follows:

Design and document physical & logical network solution
-
Identify / explore impacts & risks to current configuration
-
Meet with Customer to understand desired solution, & ensure Customer clearly understands all criteria and deliverables

Solution validation
-
Review existing documentation as applicable
-
Project Support through services completion (related to engineering solution & budget)
Deliverables include
-
Early Job Conference (EJC) – Customer meeting to review scope details and request Customer related inputs required.

Customer Information (CI) – Customer meeting to gather, review and agree on final engineering inputs for the project.

Logical Network Design including IP Addressing (Spec Book)
-
Network Design (NETD) – high level network design document of the solution.
-
Spec Book – logical configuration document including IP addressing details.
-
Test & Verification Plan creation and validation- detailed test and verification plan for the solution including list of test cases to be performed
Travel
-
Occasional Travel may be required
-
May be required to work off normal business hours.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in in Telecommunications or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience

Self-motivated individuals able to learn quickly.

Must also be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
-
Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively work with others.
-
Candidates must be driven to achieve results while maintaining deadlines.

Unix/Linux/Solaris knowledge and skills.
-
Excellent organizational skills.
