At Phota Labs, we’re building visual GenAI that helps people capture, express, and relive their memories — in ways that feel effortless, personal, and emotionally resonant. Our core technology enables personalized image generation that faithfully reflects who you are and the moments you experienced.
We're a small team of researchers, engineers, and designers who have always been at the forefront of how people capture, edit, and share images and videos. We build with our hands and hearts. We believe GenAI is the next shift for photography, and are seeking builders who share this vision — people like us, like you. We're just getting started!
You probably haven’t seen a role quite like this before — it sits at a unique intersection of photography, GenAI, storytelling, and social media. As a New Media Marketing Creator, you’ll work closely with our founders, engineering team, and creative partners to shape how the world sees Phota Labs.
Your work blends hands-on creativity with product intuition: making content using our tools, exploring new visual formats, stress-testing the product with real use cases, and helping us understand what resonates with modern creative communities. More importantly, you’ll be a cultural signaler — someone who understands trends, aesthetics, and internet language, and can translate the technology into content that feels alive, fresh, and human.
- Create original photo and video content using our app and API for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and other social channels.
- Explore new creative workflows using our models — experimenting, pushing limits, and surfacing unexpected use cases.
- Help craft the visual voice and identity of Phota Labs across platforms.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to showcase new features and give structured feedback from a creator’s perspective.
- Participate in beta rollouts and help us understand what resonates (or doesn’t) with real users.
- Build and maintain a library of reference content, creative concepts, trends, and inspiration.
- Love photography, creative tools, and experimenting with new visual tech.
- Have strong instincts for what performs well on social, especially short-form platforms.
- Enjoy making content: filming, editing, shooting, creating narratives, or reimagining visuals.
- Are curious, playful, and willing to “hack” creatively to push the limits of our system.
- Want to grow fast by working closely with a founding team building a new category.
- This role is based in San Jose, where we work primarily in person. We believe the best ideas come from being in the same room. That said, we're flexible when needed and trust the team to manage their time well.
- Part-time or full-time options available.
- Start date: ASAP — we’re preparing a major beta rollout.
Note: In the event your application is successful and an offer of employment is made to you, any offer of employment will be conditional on the results of a background check, performed by a third party acting on our behalf.
