As a NPI Product Engineer, the candidate would primarily support the build of new products in our SMT and Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) factory but will also have the opportunity so support our Final Assembly factory, from sub-assemblies to box-level end-items. In this role, the candidate must demonstrate a strong technical aptitude, a focus on quality, good communication skills, and be able to work cross-functionally within the operations organization and with other disciplines/functions. - Early Design Review: Collaborate with Product-to-Launch (P2L)/ New Product Engineering to review designs and provide producibility feedback.
- Process Flow Definition: Provide input to MFG Engineer to optimize process flow for new product builds.
- NRE/TTP Budget Estimation: Generate Operations NRE/TTP Budget Estimate (BOE) generation.
- NRE Identification: Identify Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) requirements for manufacturing (fixtures, tooling, programming, etc.).
- Work Instruction Collaboration: Collaborate and Review with MFG Engineers and Methods Writers to develop comprehensive work instructions.
- TTP Checklist Ownership: Serve as Facilitator for the Transition to Production (TTP) Checklist and ensures all stakeholders have voiced concerns. Product Engineer updates the status in the system (Dataview).
- Build Support: Support Pilot Line Assembly and Inspection teams during build activities.
- Production Training: Train Production Teams on build processes prior to TTP completion.
- Process Qualification: Develop and qualify new factory processes as required.
- Issue Resolution: Drive timely resolution of build-related issues.
- Product Quality and Yield: Monitor Product Quality and yield data to provide design improvement or process improvement during the development phase of the product.
- Capital Management: Identify and provide inputs / options for future capital improvements and equipment for production transitions and volume ramps.
- CAB/CARB participation: Represent and participate in Pilot Line CAB/CARB as well as customer engagement to ensure continuous improvement enhancements are provided to design and process teams.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing or related engineering discipline (ABET-accredited preferred).
- 6-8 years of manufacturing/process engineering experience with product emphasis; at least 3 years in new-product introduction / product-to-launch environments.
- Demonstrated experience with tooling/fixture design, NRE budgeting, pilot-line build support, and cross-functional CAB/CARB participation.
- Proven record of driving root-cause analysis and corrective-action implementation.
**Required Technical Skills**
- DFM/DFA, process flow design, GD&T, tolerance analysis.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, GD&T, BOMs and schematics.
- Familiarity with manufacturing work-instruction creation and methods writing.
- NRE/TTP cost estimation, Excel-advanced/VBA, ERP (SAP/MM/PP or equivalent).
- Competence with process-qualification techniques (DOE, PFMEA and capability studies).
- SPC, DOE, Minitab/JMP; data visualization (PowerBI/Tableau).
- Ability to monitor yield/quality data, run basic statistical analyses and recommend design/process improvements.
- Work-instruction authoring, training development, capital-planning.
**Required Soft Skills**
- Excellent written & verbal communication; ability to influence and facilitate multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis capabilities.
- Proven leadership/mentoring ability; comfortable training production staff.
- High organizational agility and customer-focused mindset.

- Master's degree or professional certifications (CMfgE, Six-Sigma Green Belt, PMP) are a plus.
