Job Description

This full-time Hotwire role is hybrid and open to candidates located within 100 miles of our New York City or San Francisco office location.

You have several years of hands on experience working at a midsize to large size PR agency, leading teams and representing a wide range of Consumer Tech/Consumer/B2C publicly traded focused accounts, including experience working with Consumer Tech clients. You are always ready to steady the ship when waters are choppy and to inspire the team and delight clients with your insight, ideas and advice.

You know how to cut through the buzzwords and industry jargon to hone a communications strategy that drives business results. You are passionate about what you do, enjoy strategic planning as much as tactical execution. You are able to assess chaos and instinctively attempt to make order out of it.

You see a challenge and reflexively devise a path for how to overcome it. You are able to set goals and immediately formulate a plan to achieve them. We are looking for an exceptional person to join our North America Consumer/B2C team as a Director, Client Services Consumer Tech/Consumer/B2C.

A Hotwire Director is a key member of the management team that has three core areas of responsibility: client management, leading teams and contributing to agency success. They own and manage a portfolio of clients from relationship management to strategy development and vision with an eye towards revenue and profitability targets. Directors are also expected to contribute to agency initiatives, such as marketing, business development, new product/service development, as a member of the extended management team.

Daily, you will:

  • You will: Own client relationships and manage accounts spanning (Consumer/B2C, Consumer Tech, Marketing & e-Commerce)
  • Execute efficient and effective Financial and Corporate Communication plans
  • Deliver excellent client service across a group of client accounts
  • Demonstrate account and team leadership of the highest standards
  • Contribute to the success of the agency by contributing to business development and product development
  • Retain and promote top performing direct reports
  • Ensure direct reports meet utilization targets
  • Drive the new business development effort (manage a lead from start to finish) and win new accounts as needed to maintain oversight of account revenue
  • Display proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially PowerPoint, Excel and Word

Qualifications

You’ll Bring:

  • Strong experience in agency as a Senior Account Manager/Senior Account Supervisor, Director or in-house communications PR Director B2C technology sectors (Consumer Tech, Consumer, Enterprise Tech, Marketing & e-Commerce)
  • A love for storytelling and media strategy and media relations with large global brands
  • Experience supporting corporate communications programs that include working with C-suite executives (including CEO) on external communications including building and making recommendations external communications programs for executives
  • Experiences with financial comms and earnings announcements with publicly traded companies
  • Quirkiness – Not afraid to speak up and own your ideas
  • An obsession with continuous improvement
  • Curiosity about how the business works how you contribute to the organizations success
  • A drive to produce excellent work
  • Pragmatic and goal oriented mindsets
  • A strong written and presentation communication skills, with the comfort to present ideas and make a case to clients and partner agencies
  • A positive, authentic, solution-oriented team player with a good sense of humor
  • Hands-on experience managing and mentoring direct reports and cross-functional teammates.

Compensation Range: $98,000 - $137,000, depending on level of experience

The range listed is just one component of Hotwire’s total compensation package for employees, which includes bonus opportunities and a variety of benefits mentioned above. Hotwire takes into consideration a candidate’s education, training, and experience, as well as the position’s work location, expected work to be performed, required travel (if any), external market and internal value, and internal pay alignment when determining the salary level for potential new employees. A potential new employee’s salary history will not be used in compensation decisions.
