About the Company

Peak Energy is the first American venture to advance globally proven Sodium-Ion battery systems as the storage standard for the new era of renewable energy on a resilient grid.

Sodium-Ion is cheap, readily available and safe, making it the leading contender in a rapidly evolving market.

Our leadership team is powered by decades of expertise in scaling gigawatt-level innovation at world-class companies such as Tesla, Northvolt, Apple, Powin, Enovix, Zipline, Solid Power, and Fluence. We are backed by strategic investment and product partners such as TDK Ventures and Eclipse Ventures.

We are a team of engineers, operators, entrepreneurs, and partners driven by a shared ambition to set the new performance standard for renewable energy and grid resilience.

What You’ll Do
  • Own material readiness for NPI builds
    • Deliver clear-to-build status, material coverage, and run-out reports for NPI builds across cells, modules, and units spanning mechanicals, harnesses, PCBAs, and TLAs.
  • Plan and place POs for key NPI components
    • Translate build plans into material demand and place POs for long-lead and critical components (cells, PCBAs, harnesses, custom metal, power electronics, etc.), tracking them from PO to dock.
  • Partner closely with Global Supplier Managers (GSMs)
    • Work hand-in-hand with GSMs to translate program build plans into supplier commitments, align on sourcing strategy and terms, and ensure that PO placement, lead times, and material readiness support the commercial agreements they own.
  • Support commercial and supplier strategies
    • Provide GSMs with data and analysis (coverage, demand scenarios, lead times, MOQs, cost drivers) to support commercial negotiations, capacity planning, and long-term agreements.
  • Drive cost, quality, and delivery performance
    • Work with GSMs, suppliers, and CMs to address shortages, slips, yield issues, and spec changes with minimal impact on build schedules; help ensure Peak receives competitive pricing and terms for NPI parts.
  • Maintain accurate systems and data
    • Keep item masters, lead times, safety stocks, and PO status up to date in our MRP/ERP system; ensure allocations to specific programs/builds are accurate and traceable.
  • Be the operational hub for NPI builds
    • Partner with Engineering, Program Management, Manufacturing Engineering, and GSMs to align build plans, ECOs, and cut-in dates with material availability and supplier capacity.
  • Analyze and communicate
    • Build and maintain reports on material coverage, risks, and burn-down for key NPI builds; clearly communicate status and gaps to stakeholders and drive cross-functional actions to close them.
  • Support cost evolution tracking
    • Work with Supply Chain leadership and Finance to track BOM cost evolution across program phases and highlight major cost drivers, variances, and savings opportunities.

What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Finance, or equivalent experience.
  • 3–6+ years of experience in buying/planning, sourcing, or supply chain management, ideally in:
    • Energy storage, EV, power electronics, or complex electro-mechanical hardware.
  • Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP and solid understanding of:
    • Discrete manufacturing
    • Bills of material (EBOM/MBOM)
    • NPI / engineering builds
    • Procure-to-pay processes and inventory management
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets; comfortable building and interpreting coverage reports, projections, and what-if scenarios.
  • Demonstrated track record in supplier operational and relationship management (delivery, expedites, shortage management, basic commercial discussions).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; able to sift through incomplete data and still provide clear recommendations to leadership.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting status and risks to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently on multiple projects in a fast-moving, ambiguous startup environment; flexibility and bias-to-action are key.
  • Passion for the energy transition and a desire to help build a world-class supply chain from the ground up.

The salary range for this role is $110,000 - $140,000, with actual pay varying based on work location, experience, and skills. Our competitive benefits package includes flexible time off, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, a strong 401(k) plan, and equity opportunities. Join us to thrive in a supportive environment while making a meaningful impact in the energy sector!
