What is the Nurse Manager role?

We are looking for a Nurse Manager who will lead, coordinate, and evaluate the delivery of clinical care to our patients. This role will manage our team of virtual nurses to ensure high standards of care are delivered. This will include training and onboarding of new hires including shadow sessions, orientation support, and mentorship. This role will also be responsible for ongoing clinical training needs, quality, supporting continuous operational improvement, and other projects as needed. The Nurse Manager will be a role model and mentor professionally and clinically for the implementation of our company’s mission. 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead a team of virtual nurses while fostering a culture of kindness, teamwork and compassion.
  • Mentor and provide support to new hires including shadow and reverse shadow sessions, and onboarding training support.
  • Provide day to day clinical support and assist with continued education for all nurses.
  • Assist Clinical and Operations Leadership with scheduling, quality, and training needs to ensure we are following standard practices and meeting all client program needs.
  • Ensure daily duties are carried out by assigned team of nurses; address performance through coaching or documentation as needed.
  • Engage with Clinical Leadership, Compliance, and People Team concerning patient or staff concerns.
  • Review resumes, interview and assist in building a team of quality, patient care focused nurses who will deliver high standards of care.
  • Assist in the implementation of changes to our programs and procedures.
  • Special projects and other assignments as needed.


What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in as many of the following states as possible: NY, CA, IL, FL, MO, KY, RI. CA and compact licenses are highly preferred. 
  • Triage and Critical Care experience required.
  • At least one year of Charge Nurse/Clinical Management/Leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to learn and proficiently use multiple EMRs and various communication applications, including Google products; EPIC proficiency preferred.
  • Must be comfortable with the virtual use of continuous and episodic vital sign monitoring devices.
  • Ability to work from home in a HIPAA compliant environment is required.
  • Confident leadership, able to make evidence based decisions, and implement change tactfully. Self-motivated. 
  • Professional and effective communication style that translates across all members of staff and patients. 
  • Ability to deliver training and education clearly and effectively to staff as necessary.
  • Strong problem solving skills with the ability to calm others. Handle patient escalations with respect and dignity, defusing the situation and problem solving to ensure patient satisfaction. 
  • A willingness to jump in and help where needed to ensure team success.
