Job Overview

We are looking for a Sterling OMS Architect with strong experience in retail/e-commerce and omnichannel order management. The candidate will be responsible for designing scalable Sterling OMS solutions, leading technical architecture, integrations, and providing hands-on technical guidance to development teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and lead IBM Sterling OMS architecture for large-scale retail and omnichannel implementations.
  • Work on order orchestration, inventory, sourcing, fulfillment, shipments, cancellations, and returns.
  • Design solutions supporting BOPIS, Ship-from-Store, Ship-from-DC, Ship-to-Store and curbside fulfillment.
  • Architect integrations between Sterling OMS and e-commerce, WMS, ERP, inventory, payment and store systems.
  • Provide technical guidance on Sterling services, APIs, agents, pipelines, extensions and configurations.
  • Define scalable REST/SOAP, XML/JSON and event-driven integration solutions.
  • Lead performance tuning, production troubleshooting and technical design reviews.
  • Mentor Sterling OMS developers and provide technical leadership across onshore/offshore teams.
Required Skills
  • 6+ years of hands-on IBM Sterling OMS experience.
  • Strong experience with Sterling OMS 9.x/10.x and Sterling Web Store/Web SOM.
  • Strong retail/omnichannel order management domain knowledge.
  • Strong Java/J2EE, XML, XSLT, REST, SOAP, JSON and SQL skills.
  • Experience with Oracle and/or DB2.
  • Strong enterprise integration and API architecture experience.
  • Experience with at least 2 full lifecycle Sterling OMS implementations.
  • Strong understanding of order sourcing, inventory, fulfillment and returns.
Preferred
  • Experience with large-scale retail/e-commerce platforms.
  • Kafka/event-driven architecture experience.
  • Cloud, CI/CD and DevOps experience.
  • Experience leading onshore/offshore technical teams.

Ideal Candidate: A hands-on Sterling OMS Architect with deep retail domain expertise, strong integration skills, and experience designing and delivering end-to-end omnichannel OMS solutions.
