ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are looking for a detail-oriented, high-ownership AI Tutor Onboarding & Training Specialist to join the SpaceXAI Human Data team. This role will ensure that every new AI Tutor receives a seamless, high-quality onboarding experience and continues to develop into a top-performing contributor. You will own the full lifecycle of tutor readiness from offer acceptance through initial training, orientation, and ongoing skill development so the Human Data team can scale rapidly while maintaining excellence.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Own the end-to-end onboarding experience for all new AI Tutors from the moment an offer is accepted
  • Design, schedule, and deliver initial orientation and foundational training programs for AI Tutors
  • Ensure seamless day-one readiness by coordinating equipment, system access, and login permissions prior to start
  • Evaluate, create, and continuously improve training materials, playbooks, and resources based on feedback from tutors, managers, and evolving program needs to accelerate tutor ramp-up, quality, and continuous development
  • Partner with Human Data leads and subject-matter experts to identify skill gaps and deliver targeted continuous development
  • Track tutor progress through onboarding and early performance milestones, including training completion and related system access or readiness status, and proactively flag and resolve blockers
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for new tutors, providing timely, high-quality support and guidance
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders (recruiting, operations, quality, and program leads) on tutor readiness status and capacity planning
  • Participate in hiring events and interviews as needed
  • Manage communications and announcements to the tutor population
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1+ years of professional experience in onboarding, training, learning & development, human resources, customer success, or a related people-facing role
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Direct experience onboarding or training contractors, contingent workers, or specialized talent (especially in AI, data labeling, content moderation, or similar high-volume quality programs)
  • Experience designing and facilitating live or asynchronous training sessions
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills in a fast-moving environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex processes simply
  • High sense of urgency, ownership, and attention to detail
  • Comfort working with tracking systems, spreadsheets, and basic learning tools
  • Familiarity with AI/ML data collection or human feedback workflows is a plus
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Preference for candidates based in or willing to relocate to the Palo Alto, CA area; remote work is also possible
  • Position occasionally requires the ability to work overtime and weekends when needed
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
US-based candidates: $76,000 - $138,000 USD depending on factors including relevant experience, skills, education, geographic location, and qualifications.
International candidates: Information will be provided to you during the recruitment process.
Base salary is just one part of our total rewards package at SpaceXAI, which also includes equity, comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, access to a 401(k) retirement plan, short & long-term disability insurance, life insurance, and various other discounts and perks. Benefits vary based on employment type, location and jurisdiction. Benefits for eligible U.S. based positions include health insurance, 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave.
