Fluency is enabling the autonomous Enterprise. (in person).

You’re needed to help pioneer a new software category that will change how enterprises work. Welcome to the operating system of the future.

Fluency is looking for a next-level Operations Lead to build the autonomous enterprise.

You’ll be designing and running the machinery that allows a fundamentally new kind of enterprise software company to scale. There is no template. There is no playbook. You will build the system that lets everything else move faster.

This role sits at the center of the company. Enterprise deployments, security posture, deal execution, cross-geo cadence, internal truth, automation. If it touches execution, it runs through you.

You’ll work on problems that don’t have standard answers. How do you deploy novel AI systems into the most locked-down enterprises on earth? How do you maintain continuous compliance without slowing velocity? How do you keep US GTM and AU engineering operating as a single organism across time zones?

You’ll invent operating primitives. New workflows for enterprise security reviews. New internal systems for complex deals. New reporting that actually reflects reality. New automation that deletes entire categories of manual work.

You’re operating at the bleeding edge of company-building, where ops is not support — it is leverage.

We’re backed by T1 VCs like Accel + more, and we’re hitting an inflection point with enterprises globally.

You’ll work directly with the founders. The challenges are non-trivial: enterprise readiness at scale, enterprise certifications as a living system, high-stakes enterprise deals, and execution across continents without bureaucracy.

About the Role

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Proven ability to design systems and then implement them end-to-end

  • Strong technical fluency: scripting, integrations, internal tools, and automation

  • Comfort reasoning about engineering and product constraints

  • Exceptional written communication with high precision

  • Extreme ownership and bias toward closing loops

  • Ability to operate under ambiguity and pace

There will be an expectation to stay close to business context, which could involve:

  • Sitting in on enterprise customer calls

  • Working directly with GTM on live deals

  • Translating enterprise constraints into internal systems

  • Acting as the connective tissue between product, engineering, and leadership

What You’ll Own

Enterprise Deployment Operations

  • Repeatable processes to deploy Fluency into large enterprise accounts

  • IT and security review workflows

  • Procurement and access paths

  • Controlled, on-prem, or restricted deployment models when required

Security & Compliance Operations

  • Continuous SOC 2 maintenance (no audit fire drills)

  • Operationalized controls, evidence capture, and ownership

  • Driving additional certifications as the business scales

Deal Execution Infrastructure

  • Internal systems for complex enterprise deals

  • Stakeholder maps, decision tracking, risk registers

  • Timelines, handoffs, escalation standards

Cross-Geo Operating Cadence

  • Execution systems keeping US GTM and AU engineering aligned

  • Written updates, decision logs, SLAs, ownership models

  • Minimal-meeting, high-clarity coordination

Operational Reporting

  • Dashboards connecting product, delivery, GTM, and leadership

  • Weekly truth-level visibility across the company

Workflow Automation

  • Replace manual work with scripts and lightweight tooling

  • CRM hygiene, onboarding checklists, deployment runbooks

  • Compliance evidence capture and internal ops tooling

Partnership & Channel Ops (as needed)

  • Operating models where partners own relationships and Fluency delivers

  • Enablement, responsibilities, comms paths, execution standards

Nice to Have
  • Experience maintaining SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA, or similar certifications

  • Experience supporting enterprise procurement and security reviews

  • Exposure to US operational context (vendors, contracting, employment, tax)

  • Experience building reporting that bridges technical teams and leadership

Our Customers

We work with some of the world’s largest:

  • Financial services enterprises (Aon)

  • Manufacturing enterprises (Misumi)

  • Global brands across the enterprise spectrum (PVH)

Our Culture
  • You’re expected to love building systems.

  • You’re expected to like laughing.

  • You’re expected to want responsibility.

  • You’re expected to find satisfaction in clarity.

  • You’re expected to solve under obscurity.

Our Values
  • In hesitation lies destruction; in action, glory.

  • Those who merely meet expectations abandon the pursuit of greatness.

  • One who dwells within the forum must regard it as hallowed ground.

  • One who has not tasted the grapes declares them sour.

  • One who sits alone at the feast misses the richness of the table.

Location
  • Full-time, in-person role based in San Francisco, CA.

  • We offer E3 sponsorship for Australians to relocate with stipend.

Compensation
  • US$90K – $130K salary, depending on candidate and experience

  • Substantial equity - every offer includes ownership

  • Mac, Linux, or Windows - your call

  • High-impact work with global enterprises

  • Founder-led, product-first company

Don’t Apply If
  • You want hybrid or remote (THIS IS AN IN-PERSON ROLE)

  • You want a narrow ops role

  • You don’t like building from zero

  • You prefer stability over velocity

  • You avoid ambiguity

  • You want a 9 → 5

  • You’re uncomfortable owning critical systems

Hiring Process
  1. Resume screen

  2. 1:1 with founder

  3. Deep-dive interview

  4. Work through a real operating problem

  5. Offer!

We strongly encourage applicants from underrepresented backgrounds to apply. Diverse teams build better systems - see value #5.
