About the Company: Wing is reshaping the future of delivery. We are an on-demand drone delivery service that can deliver food, medicine or other items within minutes. About the Role: As a member of Wing’s Policy team, you will support Wing’s engagement with policymakers, government departments and community members where we operate.  In this role you will manage policy efforts that support the growth of Wing’s delivery business in Australia, and advance innovative regulatory proposals across all levels of government. You will regularly engage with members of the community and local policymakers and make recommendations on how we can provide a world class service for both our customers, and the larger communities in which Wing operates. 

What you’ll do: 

• Engage with government officials (commonwealth, state and local) to keep them updated on Wing’s operations in the areas they represent
• Work proactively with states and cities to unlock new opportunities for drone delivery service
• Track and analyze local and state policies related to drones
• Assist with development and implementation of a cross-functional strategy to engage with the local communities where we operate
• Work closely with the marketing and communications team to help shape Wing’s narrative at a state and local level and help coordinate/execute marketing and communications activities on the ground
• Draft policy materials such as policy submissions and correspondence with key stakeholders

What you'll need: 

• Proactive team player with and the ability to exercise good judgment in a rapidly changing environment
• 7-10 years work experience in policy, public affairs, communications or community engagement
• Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
• Experience with public speaking
• Excellent political instinct and judgement; analytical and organizational skills
• Experience managing a project with multiple moving parts
• The ability to travel and occasionally work after hours or weekends

Bonus:

• Experience with policy development and community engagement around infrastructure projects
• Experience with town/city planning or as a town planner, or working to achieve Development Applications
• Experience working as part of a geographically dispersed team
