About Tacit

We are an early-stage, deep tech startup based in San Francisco, developing innovative hardware that rethinks human-computer interaction. We are backed by General Catalyst, Khosla Ventures, and Greylock Partners, with a founding team from Stanford, BrainGate, Oculus, and Tesla. While we can’t reveal too much just yet, our team is tackling cutting-edge engineering challenges to bring revolutionary products to life.

About The Role

We're looking for an Ops Coordinator to keep our office running and help us scale our team. You'll own office logistics, coordinate our hiring pipeline, and run onboarding for new hires — freeing up leadership to focus on strategy instead of logistics. The ideal candidate is resourceful, detail-oriented, and comfortable wearing multiple hats in a fast-moving startup. This role is on-site 5 days/week at our office in South Park.

What You'll Do

Office Management

  • Oversee everyday office operations, keeping the space clean, organized, and fully stocked; manage supplies, vendors, and facilities.

  • Serve as the go-to point of contact for employees on office-related questions.

  • Organize and execute team offsites and onsite gatherings — venues, travel, catering, activities, and budgets.

Recruiting & Onboarding Coordination

  • Schedule and coordinate interviews across our hiring pipeline, keeping candidates and interviewers on track.

  • Generate offer letters and manage new-hire paperwork using our existing tools (Ashby, Rippling).

  • Own onboarding logistics end to end — equipment, system access, first-week schedule — so new hires have a smooth start.

Administrative Support

  • Provide back-up support to our Sr. EA for leadership support.

  • Assist with travel coordination, meeting prep, and follow-ups.

  • Flag process inefficiencies and help streamline workflows as we scale.

  • Coordinate events, both internal and external.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience in office management, people operations/coordination, or administrative roles, ideally at a fast-growing startup.

  • Organized, proactive, and on top of the details.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Tech-savvy with proficiency in tools like Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, and an ATS/HRIS (we use Ashby and Rippling).

  • Friendly, approachable, and proactive in anticipating needs.

  • Experience with event planning and execution, from small gatherings to larger company functions.

  • Bonus: prior exposure to recruiting coordination or onboarding.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance

  • Company size: 30–50 people

  • Unlimited PTO

  • 4% 401k matching
