About the role

We are seeking an experienced Oracle OCI Observability and Management Platform (OMP) Engineer to support and optimize our Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) environment hosted on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in OCI monitoring, logging, automation, and APM services, along with hands-on experience supporting business-critical EBS applications and their underlying technology stack. This role is responsible for end-to-end observability, proactive performance management, system reliability, and operational efficiency across our OCI-based Oracle landscape.


What you'll do

  • Implement, configure, and administer Oracle OCI Observability & Management Platform services, including:
    • Logging Analytics
    • Application Performance Monitoring (APM)
    • Monitoring and Metrics
    • Operations Insights
    • Database Management
    • Stack Monitoring
    • Resource Manager (as related to observability automation)
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and alerts for EBS, Oracle DB, middleware, and infrastructure components.
  • Analyze system and application performance trends, identifying bottlenecks and tuning opportunities for:
    • EBS application layer
    • Concurrent processing
    • Oracle Databases (CDB/PDB)
    • WebLogic/Forms o Linux compute resources
  • Support incident detection, RCA, and preventive maintenance using OCI OMP insights and automation.
  • Integrate observability tooling with ITSM / ticketing and reporting systems (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.).
  • Assist with capacity planning, forecasting, and operational KPIs.
  • Create automation scripts where applicable (bash, Python, Terraform) to improve monitoring and alerting workflows.
  • Partner closely with DBAs, EBS functional/technical teams, and cloud infrastructure engineers to ensure performance, stability, and SLA compliance.
  • Maintain security and compliance standards for monitored assets and data.


Qualifications

  • US Citizen with ability to obtain and/or maintain a US Government Public Trust.
  • 5+ years experience in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or Oracle technologies
  • 3+ years working with Oracle Observability & Management services
  • Strong understanding of Oracle E-Business Suite R12.x architecture and operational workflows
  • Experience with:
    • Oracle Database 12c/19c performance tuning & diagnostics
    • WebLogic and Forms services monitoring
    • Linux system monitoring (Oracle Linux preferred)
  • Hands-on experience configuring dashboards, alerts, log sources, entities, and plugins in OCI.
  • Proven experience resolving complex performance incidents across multi-tier environments.
  • Ability to operate in 24×7 environments and support on-call rotations when needed.
  • Secret clearance. May consider someone with Public Trust with ability to obtain and maintain Secret.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate within cross-functional and global teams · Ability to prioritize and multitask in high-pressure environments
  • OCI Professional or Associate certification(s) preferred
  • Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or CI/CD for infrastructure automation preferred
  • Familiarity with Exadata Cloud Service, Autonomous Database, or ODA monitoring preferred
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes (incident, problem, change management) preferred
  • Exposure to other monitoring platforms (Dynatrace, New Relic, Splunk, AppDynamics, Zabbix, etc.)
