Summary:
The Oracle System Release Administrator is responsible for managing and coordinating the release lifecycle of Oracle-based enterprise applications. This includes Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS), Oracle Fusion Applications, Oracle Database, and related middleware and infrastructure components. The role ensures that all Oracle releases, patches, and system updates are planned, tested, and deployed in alignment with business and IT objectives. Job Title: Oracle System Release Administrator
Summary:
The Oracle System Release Administrator is responsible for managing and coordinating the release lifecycle of Oracle-based enterprise applications. This includes Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS), Oracle Fusion Applications, Oracle Database, and related middleware and infrastructure components. The role ensures that all Oracle releases, patches, and system updates are planned, tested, and deployed in alignment with business and IT objectives. The role is also responsible for overseeing release cycles, ensure documentation is audit-ready, and collaborate across IT and business teams to support system integrity and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate Oracle application and database releases across development, test, and production environments.
- Manage application patching, cloning, and upgrade activities for Oracle EBS or Fusion.
- Work closely with DBA teams, Oracle functional leads, and business stakeholders to ensure seamless deployment.
- Ensure adherence to Oracle best practices for patching, backups, and recovery procedures.
- Administer change control processes and maintain a comprehensive release calendar.
- Document release processes, procedures, and rollback strategies.
- Provide support for user acceptance testing (UAT) and post-deployment validation.
- Monitor release progress and resolve deployment-related issues.
- Maintain and enforce audit-ready documentation including change logs, test plans, release notes, and rollback procedures.
- Implement and monitor SOX-compliant change controls, ensuring traceability and approvals for all system modifications.
- Collaborate with Oracle Support to troubleshoot and escalate critical issues.
- Automate and improve release-related processes where applicable.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Oracle applications/system administration or release management.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Fusion Applications.
- Strong knowledge of Oracle Fusion Middleware components, such as Oracle SOA Suite and Oracle Integration Cloud.
- Familiarity with ITIL-based change and release management processes.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) and modern interface testing.
- Oracle certifications (OCP, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure).
- Experience with automated testing tools such as Oracle APT, Selenium etc.
- Experience with Oracle Fusion ERP Cloud implementation methodologies, such as AIM or OUM.
- Experience with Jira, or similar ITSM and ticketing systems.
- Understanding of integrations with third-party systems and APIs.
